Any more news on Dagenkolb to Trek? Thought it a odd and conflicting since they just extended Stuyven and have Theuns for 2 more years. I kinda figured they would lead Trek in the Northern Classics.

I am not saying they are Dagenkold, and would love to see him on a Trek, just a little confused.

Meh, Theuns is a fine rider, but he's very mediocore, he should never be considered leader at such WT team as Trek.

Stuvyen however next year should be ready to start getting more consistent results, but as Quickstep have shown few years ago, it's not too bad to have strength in numbers, I'm sure Dege and Stuvyen could work quite well.

Fairly certain that Matthews will be out of OGE - Rift between rider and team.

any more details?

so who could afford him? BMC? DiData (if they splash more the cash)?

We need to understand that OGE is an Aussie team to its core but of course very accepting of other nationalities, which has been proven since 2012. Matthews is married to a Slovakian lady, lives in Monaco and hasn't raced in OZ for three or four years - So no strong ties to Australia like some other members of the team.

Matthews is very career focused so will consider moving to a team that will help his ambitions. Think Matthews has the ability to win a classic or a monument but he needs to be more versatile in his riding to achieve his ambitions.

I doubt Matthews will be high priced - But he needs to find a team that will make him the main man which may be easier saidthan done.

If Giant is out of toptier-sprinters by the end of the year that could be a spot for him.

Aru is Astana's baby boy right now and becomes the undisputed leader next year if Nibali is gone. He's got a full support team and staff that watches out for him now already.

I don't know if it's worth to sign for Segafredo-Trek just for the case that it might become an Italian team with a Italian leader. Even if he receives a bigger paycheck there. All the other things I've mentioned (coaches, sports directors, lieutenants) can't match with Astana right now.

Aru to Trek/Segafredo could happen. Like posters have said. Money can make it so. Also with Astanas budget preumebly shrinking it could be so. However if Nibs & Boom are out. That is a Big $ savings. So if they let Aru go they are very light on firepower. I doubt Vino would let that happen.

I heard a rumour that Boom might go to sky

I don't see why Aru would be leaving Astana, he has a contract, is the main GC guy, has a core group of riders and staff behind him so to me this is that typical go nowhere rumour

Seems unlikely given his problems with the MPCC.

You make a good point and he will undoubtedly return to Cx but he will still stay on the road because the cross season is only October-February so he won't just do nothing for March-September, a return to Lotto-Jumbo NL perhaps???

Either that or he fills the spot of Van der Haar at Giant I suppose!?

Edith adds Roompot as road captain.

So Trek is getting Aru and Degenkolb? Sweet, Ill take it.

Real question though. Can a team be a favorite in the Classics, Grand Tours and Sprints? Can a team be 2/3?

Why? Sky isn't even part of the MPCC.
