Thomas is almost certain to stay at Sky as are Henao, Viviani and Swift, Matthews and Rosa are almost certain for Sky, Nibali is going to Bahrain, Boonen to Lotto-Soudal and apparently Tinkoff are folding with Sagan considering Ettix, BMC and Sky, Maijka is considering Lampre, Ettix, BMC or Sky and apparently König is 50:50 could go back to Bora and Gilbert is almost certain for Lotto-Soudal apparently Mollema will stay after TRS realised they weren't going to sign Nibali, Dutch press are reporting that Boom might go to Lotto NL Jumbo

Yeah sure, Gilbert & Boonen, the two best paid Belgians, are going to LTS

Quite alot of bs in that one, very long sentence.

I was imagining all these Dutch "GT" talents in one team.
Kruijswijk, Mollema, Ten Dam, Gesink, Kelderman. Poels, Dumoulin. Throw in Terpstra for some drama. Rabobank will return and they will go 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 on L'Alpe d'huez in 2017!

Firstly Wen did I talk about all of those Dutch GT talents going to Lotto Jumbo? Secondly I've seen those rumours (granted they're all rumours) in the press so I've hardly made it up

You have to realise press makes up rumours to make stories hence money. Don't believe in everything there's written, most of its ***.

If you know anything about cycling, it won't happen.
Team Sky have leaders for the classics for net season and they are a stage racing team. They haven't taken a sprinter to the tour since EBS. Sagan would be much more successful elsewhere.
It just doesn't make any sense.
Neither does he links to Etix as again they have too many riders who would stop him having opportunities.

In cycling rumours are never complete ***. They are ever started by the agent or a team. If they don't report quotes, it's because it is off the record.
What are examples of rumours which were proven to be completely false?

If all rumours are only bs, why dedicating em an entire topic ? I find it okay to debate every rumour here, unless it's Armstrong signing to Astana for 2018

August 2015 - Alberto Contador is secretly preparing to race la Vuelta a España.

Isn't Spanish April fools not in that period?

And the other thing is: if there was a full merger between Cannondale and Drapac, who would Cannondale choose to carry over/sign from Drapac?

I'm fairly certain that the merger is only about forming a development team and not an actual merger of the "senior" teams. But just for kicks the carry over rider from Drapac would be Brendan Canty, Lachlan Norris and Brenton Jones, the best of the rest are Will Clarke, Peter Koning and Gavin Mannion.

Don't you think he'll go to the Riis team? If Tinkoff are folding, what would be the point of Riis' team if not to build around one of the two Tinkoff stars?
I don't think the Riis project is happening, at least not this year. And I'm not sure the point of the team is to pick up where Oleg left off :p anyway, I think Alberto wants some certainty for next season, and a new project doesn't offer that. Who else would they be able to sign, will they get a WT license etc.?
Well Riis has announced the signing of Mick Rogers as the CEO of the project so if it ready to go for 2017 I would expect to see a few ex Tinkoff riders riding for the team, also we do know that Bertie and Teflon Mick get along well.

Of course this is cycling so the chances of the team getting up and running are 50/50, let's hope this is not another Alonso and we hear about it every year for the next 5 years without an actual team happening :D

I genuinely don't understand why people in this forum resort to 'if you know anything about cycling' everyone clearly does of else they wouldn't be posting on what is a very obscure and nerdy site in the cycling news forum, I happen to know a lot about cycling and while I doubt Kwito and Sagan could live in the same team especially considering it's sky I think Sagan could be good at the Tour with Sky because he needs very little support and can climb very well, but as I say I doubt it and resorting to personal insults is very boring

For sure.
I was hoping that OGE would pick him up to provide more climbing support for Chaves and the Yates; and let him develop .

I think he is better in the Drapac set up right to develop in PCT races as he is still learning the ropes, also looking at the OGE list I just don't see where he fits in at the moment.

The Riis-Seier project has a wider scope than just a pro cycling team. Besides, everyone including me wants to have a World Tour team. You need money first. That was also Riis' problem some time ago, even with Saxo Bank as a partner.

How is Hushovds WT team panning out? ;)

Poels LBL, Dumoulin as a TT beast and allrounder in progress, Kruijswijk leading Giro, Weening in Norway (okay i just added that one for the record. You can't be serious.. Mollema is a disappointment but still they got great talent pool.
