why would pinarello leave sky?

where is this rumour coming from?
Contracts are up and apparently Brailsford is open to switching brands, Specy also apparently threw a bank vault at Sky in 2013.
You would think a couple of brands would be courting Sky, currently the biggest team in cycling and I see a heap of Pinerello's out on the road ridden by the weekend warriors so if Sky changes bike sponsor then you will see a increase in sales for that bike brand

Why Pinarello had to throw everything they had at Sky, can they afford to match the package that Specy could offer again?

Sky have spent money developing the Pinarello bikes though!

I think Pinerello would of been the ones spending the bulk of the money on development and a heap more to keep Sky on there bikes, whoever stumps up the $$$ is what Sky will be riding next season.

I agree, he's 26, rides well, doesn't mind working for the team and should be able to hold his own in breakaways as well.

Roche apparently asked by Nibali to join the Bahrain project, currently doing well for sky but may not be part of the Tour squad given the depth of talent at their disposal. Perhaps a change of scenery and opportunity to pursue his own goals hunting stages and maybe a change of focus towards the classics in particular San Sebastian where he has always gone well in would be a good career move?

Battaglin has potential to be much more than just a domestique. He's climbing better than ever and he packs a very fast sprint. In 2017, he could have a season like Felline had last year. That said, he's with LottoNL, so he probably won't.

Lotto Jumbo extended the contract with Battaglin until 2018.

Smart. Apart from Battaglin, I have very hard to see any climbing domestiques on that team if you don't count Gesink/Keldermania.
Since Kruijswijk's contract runs out this year, if he wins the Giro he should say that either LottoNL hires a couple of strong mountain domestiques or he'll leave the team.

Every stage he rides with this weak squad is playing with fire.

After that he can move to Movistar, retire, and write the definitive book on the Big Four.

Yes ...it could be..SKY has too many top riders to get any real chance at any one day race ...#Maybe the Prince in Bahrain has loads of dosh

But SKY is safe and Bahrain team doe snot exist yet

Budget for Bahrain is 13Mill, Sky's is 24Mill. So i imagine they will be similar to movistar and not target the classics.
