I was offered a contact by Astana, but I said no. They weren't offering me enough money or a leadership position.

Good thing too, because that 100,000 they offered you per year was in Tenge not dollars, which works out to about $662.30 at today's exchange rate. Dang.

Michal Kwiatkowski (Aeronautica Militare - Amica Chips) will ride for Caisse d'Epargne in 2011. They already signed him and are going to put him away for a year at Caja Rural, after which he'll make the move to the pros.

Dominik Nerz (20, Milram Ct) makes the move to the big Milram team.

Sentjens (!) and Kaisen extend their contracts with SIL.

Daniel Moreno Fernandez to Team Sky.
Rides for Caisse, suppose to be a climbing domestique. Anyone know much more about him? Would he be an ideal helper possibly super domestique for a GC rider?

Looks like Piti is losing another pal, after Rodriguez's departure to Katusha.
Soler and Bruseghin seem to be ideal replacers, though.

On topic:he finished the Vuelta in 11th place, after working for Valverde, and before that,2nd overall in the Tour of Poland.
Dani Moreno is usually at his best in the second half of the season, but i think he proved that he's a man you can count on when the route goes up.
Until now,Sky's only GC rider seems to be Lovkvist, but undoubtedly,Moreno could be used as a climbing domestique in the Tour and as team leader for the Vuelta.
Good signing,imo.;)

Cheers laurentiu46. I think if Sky can add Bradley Wiggins to their roster then they will have a pretty strong Tour team;

Bradley Wiggins
Kurt Asle Arvesen
Chris Froome
Simon Gerrans
Edvald Boasson Hagen
Thomas Lovkvist
Daniel Moreno
Serge Pauwels
Geraint Thomas

Stranger things have happened.

I am getting a visual of him in the car telling Alberto that his main rivals are just a few seconds up the road when they have 5 minutes on him. This could be a really funny farcical comedy where a DS sabotages his number one rider and race favorite... because HE can't be the number one rider.

I am thinking Will Ferrell in the role of Alberto, maybe McConoaghey (sic) as Levi (yes, I know, quite a stretch visually) maybe Jeremy Priven as the vindictive DS.

Maybe if Alberto wins it and Lance tries to push him off the top step and take his place.

Sorry.... just had to inject that.

They hope to be in the ProTour in 3 years. The team will be lead by: Ralph Denk, Jens Heppner and Enrico Poitschke.

Question...

I am intrigued by the team Joker-Bianchi. They really seem to be producing some nice up and coming riders. EBH, Wilmann, Kristoff, Nordhaug...what is the deal with this team? Do they actually groom these guys or do the best Norwegian riders just go to the team? Both? As a team that has a goal of producing good young riders...I have to think that Joker is doing a fine job!! I'd love to hear about this team and its riders from folks!!

Joker is known to be Norways biggest talent-factory. They sign the biggest talents, and make them into great riders. Wilmann and Nordhaug are both good examples, as Joker signed both for more than four years ago.

Oscar Pereiro has said that he wants to end his career with Xacebeo-Galicia. Perfect move for both parties if an agreement can be reached.

I may be late in knowing this...but on a Dutch site they are saying that Fabian Cancellara is a possibility for BMC? Is this true? I had heard nothing of this rumor...???

Cofidis and Bouygues Telecom not in the PT next year. Not a huge surprise considering the news that they were probably not filling all the PT spots in favor of some PÅro Continental Teams.

I had expected Milram to be in danger too which was partly right because they only get a one year license right now.

Nope, Milram safe, for only a year, the Shack still on hold.

UCI rules allow a maximum of 20 ProTour licenses, but are likely to give out fewer for the coming season. Cyclingnews reported earlier this week that three Professional Continental squads, Diquigiovanni, Cervélo TestTeam and Acqua e Sapone, would be guaranteed entry into the ProTour events by merit of their rankings in the World Rankings.
Bouygues Telecom and Cofidis were the lowest-ranked ProTour squads in the UCI's world rankings this year at 19th and 20th, respectively, lower than the aforementioned Pro Continental teams.

He still has two years to run on his Saxo contract, so it doesn't seem likely that he'd be moving on, but Saxo aren't exactly rolling in it these days, so who knows.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him go to BMC at some point, if they have a good couple of years.

Xacobeo claim to have signed a portuguese sprinter. Probably Manuel Cardoso. Although he's anything but a pure sprinter (yes, he's fast, but he can outclimb basically any sprinter around), so it may not be him.

Joker-Bianchi has also signed Christer Rake, the 22 year old talented rider placed 12th. in U23 WC recently. One key factor to some of the teamriders success is a man named Fredrik Mohn, Edvald B. Hagens coach. He's had some pretty good results with his philosophy and does some really innovative thinking.

For instance, Edvald Boassen Hagen had some nutrition problems and his stomach went crazy in competitions. They came up with a new sports drink for better restitution and better performances during competition, the sports drink is based on fish...

Hey that is great info..thanks a million!! Do you know the kinds of innovative training techniques he uses? I have heard that EBH spend all winter on a bike...regardless of the weather...which makes him really tough...anyway, thanks again.
