Wasn't Rubieria supposed to retire a few years ago? I guess his Tapas Bar in San Francisco is not working out well for him then.

Alberto's in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tour de France champion Alberto Contador will make an appearance at Cycle 2009 on Friday, October 9.

The Spaniard will be making a special appearance at the London bike show as a guest of nutrition company Science in Sport from 11.30am. You can find him on stand E33.

Contador is a member of the very elite group of riders who have won all three grand tours: Tour de France (2007, 2009), Vuelta a Espana (2008) and Giro d'Italia (2008).

Contador joins an already impressive list of cycling celebrities attending the event, including Eddy Merckx, Victoria Pendleton, Nicole Cooke, Rob Hayles, Jamie Staff, Ed Clancy and others.

Cycle 2009 opens to the public on Friday, October 9, at Earls Court exhibition centre and runs until Sunday, October 11.

Because oct 9th is the new sept 5th ?

LOL.

Seriously though...

I think it's even money that Astana gets their license pulled. Not sure what that would mean to AC's contract though. Without AC, Astana will be lucky to see action in any major races.

Taylor Phinney twittered in the last hour he has signed with Radioshack.

Re read. Reply to Sam Bewleys announcement. Twitters actually pretty rubbish how it formats that. Catches me out a bit as well.

I'm kinda surprised about Holloway making the move from JV to Bissell...I have always thought he was a good up and coming sprinter. Anyone have any insight into this?

Looks like there is a chance that Gilberto Simoni and Damiano Cunego could be racing together, on the same team (!!!!!!) next year. Turns out Simoni and Cunego are now friends again.

Boy, some of you really get your shorts tied in a knot! The second posting wasn't there from Phinney when I posted. Get a life. Really friendly place here.

Don't worry about it, it's the internet. The only forums I've seen that people are all nice to each other are the ones where everyone who doesn't tow the party line gets banned. You don't learn much out of those.

Why are you taking this so personally? It certainly wasn't meant personally or as an insult. I simply posted the updated Twitter to correct a mistake which not only you but obviously many others made, based on the ambiguous manner in which the first Twitter was written.

The Hog says wait until Wiggans finishes his season with Garmin before we hear anything. That is at the end of the Jayco Sun Tour in Australia.
