Hey that is great info..thanks a million!! Do you know the kinds of innovative training techniques he uses? I have heard that EBH spend all winter on a bike...regardless of the weather...which makes him really tough...anyway, thanks again.

It is true that there is some harsh weather in Oslo and that Edvald still will ride his bike under such conditions, but actually he doesn't train that many hours a year (1000-1100 h and about 30 000km per year). Both Kurt A. Arvesen (who btw has been training around 1300 h i believe) and Edvald do a lot of cross country skiing during the winter as well.

As for Mohns methods, he is especially good at finding what kind of training and compositions of intensity-levels suits the specific athlete.

On Cancellara and BMC:

In the German procycling is a feature on the Swiss cycling scene. In an interview BMC say the Cancellara-connection is just a rumor. He's in a contract and they never talked about anything. Of course he would be an interesting rider but at the moment wouldn't be able to pay his salary or even buy him out of his contract.

Apparently Klodi to the Shack. From the LA interview in Velo mag.
Well now, ain't that sweet? I remember when Kloden couldn't stand the thought of LA. It was right after LA nipped him at the finish line in Grand Bournand, and Hinault applauded LA's new take no prisoners/give no gifts style, that year.
Now Klodi is happy being a water boy. Wow, how times change. But then again, some things don't change at all. LA is starting to beat the "multiple leaderS" drums again, like that could happen. Levi, Klodi, Zubeldia, and himself. He wouldn't stand for Contador, a superior rider, being the leader this year, are we supposed to believe that LA would accept supporting Levi, if LL came out on top after the first time trial? Would he support Kloden? or ZUBELDIA????:D :D:D
Wow, what a comedy act he's preparing for us.
BTW, Does he realize that there will be other riders in next years Tour that he better be worried about, besides Contador? Oh boy the next year is going to be oh so interesting, I just can't wait.

From what I seem to recall reading, on any given day EBH does one of two things. Either long and easy (6-7 hours on the bike without breaking a sweat) or short and hard (ten minute intervals). Never in between.

How innovative that is I don't know.

Armstrong is such an ***, declaring that it will be him vs Contador, so what about Andy Schleck, didn't he own Lance in nearly every mountain stage? Armstrong didn't even win time on Schleck in the TT's.

Not to mention other riders who were out of form in this year Tours and younger riders getting better.

End the Astana Charade

With Kloden's release and subsequent transfer confirmed, I think it is time for the UCI to step in and end the charade at Astana. They have essentially confirmed that they are willing to let anyone out of their contract other than AC--because he holds the keys to them retaining their PT license or being invited to any worthwhile races in 2010. There is nothing left at Astana except for Vino and his ego (not meant in a pejorative-sense) and AC and his desire to get out of dodge.

Especially if they want to see a rematch of A Schleck and AC at the Tour next year. Though I think it would be pretty sweet if AC went for the Giro/Vuelta double again.

Rasmussen to Centri della Calzatura?

Yann Huguet (25, Agritubel) to Skil-Shimano.

Maarten de Jonge, Job Vissers and Julien Antomarchi all three 'stagairs' have a chance to get a Skil pro contract.

Robert Kiserlovski (23, Fuji-Servetto) to Liquigas

They didn´t let Klöden out he was at the end of his contract I think

not sure if that matters at the end of the day. Astana has released quite a few riders (LL, HZ, Jani B, JB) who were all under contract through 2010. They've made ZERO signings and frankly I doubt that the team actually exists---the current infrastructure is going over wholesale to Radio Shack.

You would expect Astana to sign up young Kazakh neo-pro's.

Winner of the Münsterland Giro on Saturday, Designa Køkken's Aleksejs Saramotins (27, Latvia) has signed for Columbia-HTC in 2010. He opted to re-sign for Designa Køkken, but if a ProTour team came in with a offer before October 15, he was free to take up that offer.

"We reached an agreement with Saramotins to extend his contract with us," said Designa Køkken team manager Christian Andersen. "He had received an offer from Vacansoleil, but yet he chose to stay with us. However, we made a deal that he could sign with a ProTour team if an offer came before October 15. Columbia did that, and we would never stand in the way of such an opportunity."

The young norwegians Vegard Breen and Vegard Robinson Bugge signs for Joker - Bianchi. Both are 19 years old. Robinson Bugge has really impressed me this year with his attacking style and great results. I was able to see him live in Roserittet, and he's really a promising rider.

Comical and enjoyable......

The persistant obsession with Lance Armstrong on this forum is truely remarkable and hilarious. I guess you know you still have it when the haters can't talk about anything other than you. The dinasour, the cheater, the crybaby. LOL......I feel for ya haters. I truely do feel for ya. I hope you have something else in your futures to focus on.

Pure comedy.

I know it's hard but the tread is about transfers not your pathetic opinions on if McQuaid is part of The Shack. Or if you think the team will need walkers at the start line. Grow up little kids. Just try........

+1 to that...

... it'll be funny to see the reaction here if The Shack wins any races...

With respect to the Shack, there is only one race. So it would be funny to see the reaction here if The Shack wins the Tour de France. Anything short of that is an epic failure. Of course this is totally off topic for this thread. My apologies.

Safe to say the Tour De france team will be Lance Armstrong, Chris Horner, Janez Brajkovic, Andreas Klöden, Levi Leipheimer, Sergio Paulinho, Yaroslav Popovych, Gregory Rast, Haimar Zubeldia. Or does anyone believe Steegmans or Rubiera will get a go?

Maybe Steegmans instead of Rast? It would be nice to think that they might give him a go (i.e. someone to get a stage win rather than just support Lance), but otherwise I'd say that that line-up looks pretty likely.

I think the caveat for this team and its line up for ANY race will be who is healthy. Their biggest guns/engines, with the exception of Kloden, were down and out--some multiple times last year. Did Horner complete any stage race outside of ToC?
