I don't know if it's been reported already, but Davide Appolonio (stagair) and Xavier Tondo (Andalucia-Caja Sur) are signing with Cervelo Test Team. (see source wielerland)

Tondo was one of the guys previously rumored to be going to Astana, so that's another one off their roster. Does anyone know whether the Allan Davis to AST rumor was ever proven true?

Anybody know anything about where Floyd Landis or Burke Swindlehurst are riding in 2010?

Instead of him, Josep Jufré is going to Astana.

Oscar Pereiro has no idea what he wants, what he's doing, or who he is. This guy needs to read a self-help book.

Alan Davis was waiting to see if Astana could buy out his contract with Quickstep.
Aaron Kemps is also waiting for a contract with Astana.

Hardly seems fair to keep riders in limbo like this.

By my reckoning, they still have to sign 2/3 riders minimum, to meet PT requirements.

Had to get rid of all those old guys. They were starting to smell.

I just want to know who is in charge of the salary. 22 mil doesn't get what it used to that is for dang sure. Since Bert is running a slimmed down schedule this year. It's going to be slim pickins for the boys in Astana blue. Smell? I think the talent evaluator is missing more senses than smell. Yikes long year. Let's just hope the "talent" gets paid period!

2010 astana squad

Tirolango is no longer with ASTANA. This team certainly doesn't look like a GT team. Its a team full of young KAZAKS who should go back riding their horses over Tien Shan and a bunch of Spaniards who have stuck to AC. What has Jesus Hernandez done all year? This guy was supposed to be the superdomestique for AC with no results to show for.

No Oscar, No Tirolango. Who is next? Does that ship even have sails? Unreal how a team can be so lost and misdirected. If Bert does it this year. He for sure deserves it. He won't be getting much help.

Hey maybe they are cutting all of these signings because they can't get the 22 Mil. Who knows. I sure don't and likely neither does the people in charge there either.

First I've heard of Tiralongo not being on the team. Can you provide a link to substantiate your claim.

Do you have a link?

why does everyone ask for a link? Why does a Internet link make something true? Why can't it be true because someone told you?

agree very much. many people seem to think that everything one could possibly know, is readily available on the internet, and that if it's not on the internet, it doesn't exist. when in fact, something could obviously be written on the internet without being true, and, crucially, something could be true without being published on the internet.

Because it is far too easy for someone to simply make something up. I am not insinuating that is the case in this instance, of course.

The anonymity of the internet and the easy access to it make it far too easy for anyone to publish anything and expect people to believe it.

Isn't that why the thread is called "Rumours & Reality". For example, I want to know what the latest position is with Rasmussen. I looked on the internet and can't find anything after he walked out on CDC. So I want to know what the rumours are. If it was on the internet, I wouldn't need to ask on the forum.

Well, because it's big news and if it was true at least one of the cycling sites would have reported. So I question what he says. It's called critical thinking. I have a strange habit of questioning something a stranger says as a fact without something backing it up.

When I asked for a link, what I wanted was a trustable site with what he said reported. Not all links do it for me.

Because September 5th never came.

Point is the poster was fairly certain that Tiralongo was no longer with the team. If s/he doesn't have a link they can establish their source another way. Either way, it is not unreasonable to seek some objective/independent confirmation.

But there's a major difference between saying "Rasmussen is going to Team Bla Bla" and "Rasmussens is rumoured to be going to Team Bla Bla".

Susan

The problem in that particular case is that since May Rasmussen and his agent have been guaranteeing the danish press that he's going to a team almost every week. And it's always a different team. Literally.

youtube or it didn't happen

about that: i was looking for footage of arvesen winning the e3 prijs last year, because i thought that was beautiful, and i've only seen it once, but when i looked for it on youtube, it was almost as if it never happened..a link, anyone?

Search on multiplous sites about cycling and you will find his win reported. Don't be dumb, ***.

A link allows you to check a source.

Obviously some sources are less reliable then others... but at least you can check.

Personally, if I'm quoting a rumor or news on a message board, I would always provide a link. Simply because I don't want backlash about what it says to come back on me... I'm just passing info along.

With anonymous posting on message boards, it's tough to believe anything unless a link is provided. Otherwise it may just be a 13 year old with an internet connection making up garbage.

Don't I know that! Although it seems to me he doesn't actually mention team names, just "a big team" or "a team that will allow me to ride the Tour" or whatever.

The alternative there is to say "Rasmussen now says he will ride for Team Bla Bla". There you have the source and everyone can decide on their own how trustworthy it is.
