He obviously wants to measure himself with the big guns and needs to do a giro or vuelta for that. He's not 21 anymore so I can understand that. If another team will give you that guarantee, why the hell would you stay?

If they did expect results, they would have gone at great lenghts to accomodate his demands. If, and only if, he demanded a spot on the team of a GT, and RAB would not meet this request, could that not be an indication that they think it's too early to be competitive in a GT?

On the other hand, I understand what you are saying about ambition. He was a OC, so he is probably loaded with ambition. I wouldn't be surprised that he is very confident in his own abilities, and that he understands that top-level competition is prerequisite to become a top level pro. His perspective could be that he would only find that sort of competition in GTs, so his drive tells him to be there to improve.

Anyway, I liked the idea of a judo-train...

Besides working with some of the best (V. Poppel, Hushovd, even Haussler, stage wins) @ Cervelo, I would guess Milram (v Gerwen, Cioleck, stage wins, lead out men) is a good bet perhaps?

From what I've heard Knebel isn't the type of guy to demand things from. He could have just said no even if they we're planning on taking him to the giro, just cause he doesn't want to give any guarantees.
Last Monday in TV-show Holland Sport he said even Menchov is not guaranteed a place at the 2010 Tour at this time. So I can imagine him laughing at Bos when he demands a spot anywhere.

I think Wagtmans and de Rooy could become desperate enough to give Bos certain guarantees and pay him well.
So next to cervelo, my money is with Astana.

TBH i don't think it is a loss. Rabobank seem to be leading in different directions in terms of GTs. They have become a more GC orientated team (both Gesink and Menchov can seriously challange a GT), so why would they want to waste energy on bos. I'd like to see him go elsewhere where he might get that support.

Theo Bos declines an offer from Rabobank PT because they wouldn't guarantee him spots in the GTs. That seems like a slightly arrogant demand and I wonder if any team would sign him and guarantee him a spot in the GTs. At any rate it looks like he's up for grabs atm.

That was only one of the reasons. The other is that he demanded a personalized leadout train. Insane.

Well, if you exclude the Tour which Thor is mostly focused on Cervélo hasn't had a specifically desginated sprinter in the other GTs. Thor was supposed to ride the Giro as well but chose to skip it to recuperate from the classics. So perhaps Van Poppel is interested in having some alternatives. I don't know how Bos would feel about playing 2nd fiddle to Hushovdand Haussler though.

Bos is negotiating about having lead-out train that would play out in the following order: Roulston, Lancaster, Hammond, Haussler and Hushovd.

Don't know if it was reported or not, but Janez Brajkovic is going to ride for RS. He also held offers from Katusha, Rabobank and Sky, source biciclismo.

It is also reported/speculate, again, that el pollo - after his remarkable demonstrations in Mexico - is negotiating with 4 teams. At the source story a forum member there mentions that is concerns CSF, RockRacing, Liquigas, Serramenti Diquigiovanni (????)

I would be surprised if LIQ would want to burn its fingers on Rasmussen, who was IIRC, based on Matschiner's depositions, in his renewal phase of storing blood bags near the end of his ban...

£2m is a pretty hefty compensation, no doubt JV is burning up the wires to the Khazaks. Team Sky's roster is looking impressive, and with Arveson being the oldest rider by more than 2.5 years, they have a few more years in them than team Shack.
