Have you been watching cycling lately?

You mean as opposed to you?

A TimeTriallers' course will be tailor made for Wiggins, a climbers course will be tailor made for Froome. Either way Sky will win.

hehehehe... Froome goes, takes 2 meters, gets a 22 year old French guy in his wheel... Contador goes, drops everyone out of sight.

Whatever you say boss.

Except you don't. I bet you don't act so churlish and juvenile away from the internet.

Sky aren't the new US Postal and Wiggins certainly isn't the new Lance Armstrong so I don't know why people are fretting. Sky are simply making hay whilst the sun shines. When strong riders are back in GC contention next year we won't see Sky having things all their own way.

They are ruining the races. Ugh.

No not as opposed to me.

British World Champs domination, Algarve, Paris-Nice, Romandy, Dauphine, Tour de France..

I'd say there's a seismic shift going on, pretty good way of describing it.

What's the matter mate?

Nothing's the matter. I just find it hilariously funny, that because ONE team, with a lot of money and a handful of talented riders finally start getting some results (the TDF isn't even over), apparently, we're looking at a seismic shift. So tell me, was there a seismic shift when Contador started winning everything? And before that every other team that performed better than the rest? And first and foremost, do you think other teams aren't already looking into Sky's training methods? Do you think it's impossible to get the same kind of knowledge onboard for other teams? Because before i personally would start talking about a seismic shift, i'd make sure it was a phenomenon that has the potential to last longer than 2 or 3 seasons.

In short, catching up and momentarily having the advantage, does not represent a seismic shift. Or we have different opinions of what a seismic shift is. They have a nice generation of riders who are finally getting some results. Enjoy it, it may not last as long as you would hope. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I'm sure we do.

I don't think we can call a single riders victories a seismic shift and due to his past, as far as I'm concerned, they're not worth the paper they're written on.

When you see what British Cycling have achieved and the way they've gone about it - that's a seismic shift. For Team SKY to appear on the scene and announce a British Tour de France victory within 5 years and be in the position they are now is seismic. If it doesn't happen this year or even next year it will happen because the infrastructure is in place.

Ok, so what is a seismic shift to you, is catching up to me. Carry on then.

Really can't be arsed.. If you don't want to look you won't see, which is the approach you're taking. British Cycling on the track, the creation of Team SKY, taking it to the road - World Champs, SKY bossing the Peleton whenever they bring the A team (again.. Algarve, Paris-Nice, Romandy, Dauphine) 1 and 2 in the Tour, 4 different Brits (3 SKY) with Tour stage wins, as of today.

They have the system in place to carry on and everyone else is playing catch up.

No, everyone good is out of it for one reason or another. This is the B field playing against each other.

Armstrong won the Tour 7 times and USA is nothing in cycling nowadays. Enjoy it while it lasts, won't be 7 though. ;)

The carnage of the first week has blown skys performance way out of all proportion.
Both the sky fans and "cave" dwellers have lost all perspective.
For instance lets take Mollema...
Remember Froomes best day on a mountain Pena Cabarga with the massive attack and the duel at the death with Cobo? he finished a MASSIVE 21 secs ahead of Mollema yep 21 secs
Mollema
Gesink
Kruijswijk
VDB
Sanchez
Valverde
Rolland
Hysedal
All crashed first week all of whom could of competed at the level sky are at today

frenchies had their time, italians had their time, spanish had their time...clearly it's the age of anglo-saxons now just like mcquaid said here

There is a clash going on at the moment between two cultures, the Anglo-Saxon and what I might call the mafia Western European culture," said McQuaid. "The Western European Culture is a culture that has to some extent - I won't say condones doping and cheating practices - but because of their culture in life, because of the way they deal with everything else in life they accept certain practices." "The Anglo-Saxon, which would be here [in the Netherlands], it would be Germany, it would be the United Kingdom, it would be Denmark - is the complete opposite. And they have a completely different approach to the doping fight, and it's evident when you see the approach the teams have made - the German teams in particular there were a major problem in July - and the approach they have taken looking at the future and how they move forward into the future. "And it is important, I feel, it is very important that at the end of the day the Anglo-Saxon approach wins out - because if it doesn't, then the sport is doomed."

looks like the sport was saved now :p

Speaking for myself as a Dane I just can't imagine a Dane using doping.
