APB goes out to all squad cars, we are looking for a group of 4 white males, bourgeois types, either in chinos or lycra, middle aged existential crisis types, doping facilitators. They go by the name of "Hombre", "Chris H", Whareagle, and dbrower.

Call for back up, and Novi.

I think Whareagle would object to being called middle-aged. I'm now closer to being a senior citizen. Don't own any chinos, but absolutely part of the decadent bourgeoisie. Traded my S2000 for a Civic Hybrid in 2004. As to what I've enabled over the last 5 years, nobody here would know.

FLASH-- there's lots of doping in cycling. The testing regime sucks. The enforcement system is not what it presents itself as being. Good guys sometimes lie, bad guys sometimes tell the truth, and nothing guarantees the truth will come out. Vigorous discussion can help. Film at 11.

Hamilton Surrendering His Gold Medal
The American cyclist Tyler Hamilton, the 2004 Olympic gold medalist in the time trial, has voluntarily surrendered his gold medal to the United States Anti-Doping Agency after admitting to doping during his cycling career, the International Olympic Committee said Friday.

Wow!

When you take the high road, it puts an infinite distance between you and those pursuing the low road.

This has further illustrated what a complete and classless SOB Armstrong is with the Eki tweet.

How will Lance and Fabiani spin this? Tyler lied so he could give up his medal?

Right.

Dave.

Shouldn't there be some sort of 'I am sorry to have led the charge' headline on TBV?

Tyler looked very out of in the CBS teaser for the 60minutes story. I guess the gravity of the situation has him shocked to the core.

In the letter to his friends and family he said something about “Tanker and I are loving our Boulder life” I guess Tanker is his dog. All I can say is let’s hope that Tanker does not take an unexpected dirt nap like Tugboat did. If that happens someone needs to get to him quick in order to stop the unavoidable melt down this guy will have.

I hope he gets above this and moves along with his life.
Tyler, just call your dog Titanic next time, and be done with it. Then Titanic II, etc etc

I would guess they'll say he somehow knew he was going to lose the medal anyway, is trying to sell books now instead, and because he's a desperate convicted drug user with an axe to grind against Lance just like all the others, he gave up his medal to give false credibility to his actions in order to mask his lifelong hatred for and jealously of Lance. All while that tabloid TV show 60 Minutes and their weak reporters fell victim to his lies.

It's going to be interesting when word eventually spreads that Eki was on the same team as LA, Tyler, Floyd for much of his career, and part of the same doping system.

This story is obviously a lie, and NYT is in on the whole thing. I read on factsforlance.org that Tyler made a deal with the federal government to keep his medal. This is all a sham.

Who are you going to believe, factsforlance.org or the NYT?

I bet the writer of that piece is ghost-writing Tyler's book...

Tyler has a deal with the Feds to keep his REAL medal.
The one he is "giving back" is fake.

The Government Agency that filmed the "Moon Landing" is working in tandem with Haliburton on the ruse.
Wake up sheeple.

But anyway, Lance DOES have to be careful with the viewers 60Minutes tic ToC.

Almost a majority of viewers do not care.
And almost a majority of viewers are in denial.
Then there is that small contingent of haters viewing meow.

Lance does not need to be TOO concerned with the ones who don't care.
And does not need to care at ALL about the haterz obviously.

But the ones in denial are the important ones.
They are the ones who will be the MOST forgiving.
They are the ones Lance should NOT lie to anymore.

C'mon, White Lies in the name of inspiration are one thing.....
Understandable and appropriate sometimes.
But I think we have gone beyond the inspirational white lie point lol.

A World Class Mea Culpa to that group would be wonderful.
Sometime in the next few weeks or months.
Maybe have a press conference at the Tour of Colorado or something.

Gosh, a World Class Mea Culpa take the wind out of the Feds Case if done correctly. Attacking his old team mates will be great for Novitsky&Co sigh.

Best quote from The Daily Beast article:

I think LA will find that giving the chairman of CBS News the run around is a little different that leading a cycling reporter around by a leash...

I don't think he get's it yet. He's been surrounded by sycophants for too long and protected from reality by his own narcissistic defenses. I think he still believes that he will escape indictment because the decision to indict comes from D.C. where he has cultivated important relationships. Sociopaths never believe that the rules apply to them. They always believe they can charm, con and manipulate others ad they engage in this with reckless disregard for the paths of destruction and emotional havoc that they cause.

I agree that LA and his team made a big mistake in trying to play their games of character assassination with 60 Minutes' sources. I'm hoping that this dynamic - written about today by Howard Kurtz - is prominently featured on Sunday evening.

But Polish, don't you think he's past the point of no return on that one? I mean, after all he's said, a mea culpa at this point?

I do like your conspiracy theory on the medal Tyler giving back is a fake one, that was pretty good!

Right.

Dave.

The only problem I have with Tyler giving up his medal is that the IOC will just hand it to Eki, the next lying cheater in line, and one who is infinitely less likely to ever tell the truth.

My guess is that we'll see some updates to facts4lance very shortly, of course without any acknowledgement that they were dead wrong so that it doesn't affect their credibility to anyone only tuning in now.

Here is the article by Howard Kurtz of Newsweek, regarding the dynamic between CBS, 60 Minutes, and Armstrong's group. I too hope this is at least discussed some this coming Sunday.

Fabiani, Luskin and Herman are going to have a very difficult time discrediting 60 Minutes. Many, many have tried in the past, and few have ever succeeded much at all. It's quite possibly the most respected journalism in the world.

Not necessarily. They may just vacate the gold and leave the results as is. I'm thinking the odds are close to 50% right now that there will just be an asterisk in the gold medal column.

By the by, I'll be donating to Lance's defense fund when Fabiani donates his fees to the Special Olympics along with an apology to all the non-leeches of the world, as well as to competent web designers everywhere.

Tyler Hamilton: I stand on the road side, head down, cap in the air. You, sir, have more guts in your little pinky than several whole cyclists I'm familiar with.

Nope.

Go back and reread the conclusion, http://trustbut.blogspot.com/2008/12/after-all-that-what-do-we-think.html, which is pretty much "Pox on all your houses". I think it holds up adequately with what was known at the time.

-dB

Can we split this into another thread?

Unfortunately, this dismissal cannot go without response.

The concept of what was known at the time is an egregious discrediting of widely known facts - at the time - and a dismissal of aiding and abetting a known scam. All of which has been fully and publicly disclosed to absolutely nobody's surprise.

It was an organized effort that supported a fraudulent action to take money from the public, and public coffers.

To suggest 'pox on all your houses' is an insult to all of those who worked hard to put a light on the real facts and expose the fraudulent campaign.

Work that was consistently attacked, including through attempts to expose anonymous contributors, by a select few who felt that they somehow owned the right to truth and justice.

Dave.

Hopefully all of this gives Tyler some peace. Can only applaud him for giving up his medal when he could have tried staying silent until 2012 and kept it.

Yeah, they do good work. Didn´t they expose the cigarette mafia? And great job about the NBA-Fixing. So i think when they are after something, they hold water. Let´s all hope the final curtain is on Armstrong.

Well Hog, was this the "deal" you talked about? He gives up the dirt AND the medal.

:D

Have to say... good move by Tyler. He's going to be much harder for Lance to assault because of this. Where's the positive? It's probably a negative for him financially (I can't see it helping his current business to be honest). It forced him to give up his most prized possession. And if he lied... he'd go to jail because he did it to a grand jury.
