Now on page 80-something. I know many things have been commented on already. Like Tyler's description of Lance - difficult-to-impossible to work with. No one must be better than him?!?! Pacifying him when Tyler did better?!

Anyway, the release of this book must have caused Tyler some considerable stress! And I think it shows.

Radio guy from my old hometown, John Canzano, interviewed Coyle yesterday. Good discussion, with back and forth questions and answers. Worth listening to. Link here.

You are right, Alpe. That was worth listening to. There were a number of things there I had never thought about. For instance, the answer to the question who was the most impacted by the doping program within Lance's teams? The question immediately brought to mind all of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers to Lance. The answer given was the guy you never heard of. The guy who raced against Lance as a 10 year old. That guy quit competitive cycling because he would not surrender to the pressure to dope and instead chose to stay clean. Gonna have to go buy the book.

Canzano found Darren Baker (the guy we never heard of) and interviewed him along with Scott Mercier. Great stuff...

I wonder about the bad bags that Contador must have received in TDF 2010 or Tyler's bad bags for the Olympics and just after. Easy to blame the clumsy forgetful assistant of Fuentes but I sense Tyler was not totally convinced that was the direct cause. The hand of the Don LA cannot be overruled especially as we have seen his actions on anyone that crosses the line that he draws. Other people's success disturbs him, Wow.

Landis would have been the 3rd American to win the TDF, did he perhaps get a bad BB? He said he had never taken testosterone but who knows what was in his BB? who knows what these doctors do in their dark alley. Amazing the risks these riders take for the so called "success".

all that is very likely. the thing is little pieces of info reach us whereas the technology of transfusion develops and undergoes changes that naturally are tested on riders in grand tours. it's really really dark market and surely all these dirty doping things is a big risk. anyone can be popped without having a hand in uci. contador had it i think. his positive was leaked only due to nosy german journalists. i wonder whether that was a big problem to get proper bbs if so many elite gt riders had big trouble with it? it looks like likes of fuentes turned the tour into big field of their own medical experiments.

Would love to see Armstrong cell phone, text and email records for the ten days starting Thursday, July 20, 2006, the day Landis won that epic stage.

I guess he called Hein who called Saugy who 'fixed' the sample.

Another question about TH's book : Hamilton says Fuentes told him he was "preparing" both Ullrich and Vino with BB ans Siberia... Does someone understand six years later why Vino didn't get caught in Puerto in may 2006. Any link with his positive test on year later ?

Siberia = Nickname for New Fridge for freezing blood mixed with glycol to preserve the cells. Enabled a rider to store blood safely beyond the the refrigerated restriction of 3 to 4 weeks.

He's an official Trek dealer, as you'd expect. (ProjectONE tshirt is a Trek personalised design initiative.)

From his facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/Starsnbikes

A Schleck and someone else I don't recognise.

Looks like Mike Anderson should have followed the Motoman route. Would have got his bikeshop.

Seeing this I'm sure Chef Duffy is also an exclusive Trek and Oakley dealer somewhere in Belgium.

I had a professor who looked like Jens, sounded exactly like Jens (he was dutch, but had a german accent). He was the biggest a**hole i've ever met in my entire life.
I have no respect for Jens because of this f***er:D

That is an awesome find. Nice!

Given Hoffman's range (Hook -> Rainman) I reckon he'd easily play Tylers deadpan, laid back manner. The nose, and downward pointing outer eye corners (and the hair shape) all work.

Really shows you how flat TV studio lighting vs photographic studio.

Cheers Big Ring, sadly Dustin,s a bit old for the part now. I'm a bit of a film buff and soon as I saw Tyler in interview Hoffman sprung to mind. Indecently in 84 he was slatted to star in a film called The Yellow Jersey about the TDF but it got shelved.
"Dustin was passionate about doing it, and that was the first time I was in a position to make some really good money with it," Mehlman says. "He had a deal with Columbia and it was right after 'Tootsie,' so it would have gone (into production) the moment he was ready."

In 1984, Hoffman and director Michael Cimino accompanied Mehlman to France for the Tour, after which Hoffman told a French television interviewer that next to attending the birth of his child, watching the race was the most moving experience of his life. Mehlman figured that was it but the deal fell through with Cimino, and Hoffman wasn't satisfied with any of the directors that Mehlman or the studio suggested. The directors Hoffman said he would work with weren't available"

Depends how you play it. Could easily cast it as an introspective (fits Tyler's personality) lookback at his life, perhaps told to a captive grandchild or fan and cut in scenes of racing and dramatised portions of the book and what not with continued voice over from Hoffman. I'm no director, but it'd be better than what I think Levi has cooked up.

Mind you, Tyler's book was not given much credit pre-release but once it came out it was an explosive hit, so maybe Levi's film will peel back some onion layers. I'm not going to hold my breath though.
