The big question is, does Tyler have delusions about how he is perceived? If he still has them, then the book will be a half-assed "kinda true" tell-some.

If Tyler is truly ready to face life, then the book will be real. But until I hear who the agent is, I'll consider it to be nothing more than rumor.

RR, do your sources say anything beyond him just killing time with a copy of MS Word, or is he "really writing a book that a publisher wants to publish"?
is this like the biopic hagiography that Matt Damon or Jake Gyllenhaal would be lead? IE, just talk, and Bill Stapleton's media feed strategy.

That cracked me up.
As I've said before Tyler is a nice guy who I expect will eventually offer alot of information about what went on behind the scenes. He left the lasting impression with me and my better half that he knows the difference between right and wrong.
Now, if he can form a sentence, then what publisher would not be interested in at least listening? Especially now!
I suggest that he and Floyd corroborate with Sally Jenkins in a tell all.

I've long wondered why Tyler has not yet said "screw it" and just dropped the big bomb. He's already lost most everything... Wife, fortune, prestige, homes, etc. I'd imagine that w-boy probably calls him up every few weeks and reminds him that he's always gonna be under Lance's thumb. I wish I knew what Lance's power over him really is. Livingston is willing to settle for working in the Mellow Johnny's basement. What's Tyler's reason?

An Olympic gold medal.

Aside from that and looking at the responses about his coaching services on the tri forums last year, he would be better off telling it how it is. He should move the burden to teams and the entire sport rather than bearing it all himself.

Between editing, fact-checking, and the legal department, quite a while.

+1.

Used to be a media lawyer so I know. Takes ages to verify there is sufficient factual basis to support allegations. Plus, Tyler's book is going to sell in the US, Europe and Australia which means a plethora of different defamation laws.

March would be great, but I think rather optimistic. My feel is that the LA indictment will be June, so timing might be perfect.

I could totally see Vino driving around Brooklyn in a black BMW with a set of brass knuckles in his pocket. His buddy's the guy who escaped from Paulie and Christopher down in the Pinelands.

hahahahaha, that's the best 'dirt' I've ever read on anyone in a cycling forum. Maybe that's why Breschel got the wrong bike change in Flanders, and maybe that's why ASchleck dropped his chain in the Tour. Ol' 'Pump Breaker' Riis has the midas touch!

Care to elaborate on that? I've never heard anyone say anything about his training services, good or bad. Your comment has piqued my interest.

I think a book would be a catharsis for Tyler, get it all out in the open and if he happens to make a pile at Pharmstrong's expense then I'd buy the book.

He, like Floyd, knows the facts and if he can help blow the WHOLE doping issue open then maybe we can see some change in the peloton. Go for it Tyler, the gold is just a piece of metal!

Problem being Ty cant admit to himself that he's a fairly average athlete without the drugs.

I remember Eric the Zabel just shaking his head at Tyler and saying "Come on guys. Sure take the gear to recover and keep up but at least make it look real. Bombing off the front and winning solo with a broken collarbone just makes us all look stupid". (this quote is on public record - it can be linked - just have to find it).

It's going to be hard for Hamilton to come to that realisation. But if he gets to the same place as Floyd then maybe so..... What killed the both of them was the stark difference is treatment by the UCI from USPS to Phonak. Once you leave the favours don't come anymore....... With both of their defences what they really wanted to say was "Look the UCi and the labs have been taking bribes and fudging results for years. Why all of a sudden have I been taken down? Normally this kind of thing would just go away. What changed?" - They weren't saying "I'm innocent" they were saying " Why now? After I've cheated 9 million times, why positive now?"

Some information for all of you (speculation so take it at will)...... You may think there's nothing in the USPS sponsorship release...... But (if) the minions didn't realise that Lance was getting paid a lot lot lot more than them... Armstrong liked to make out to them that he made money outside of the contract. The contract was for the "team".... The release will insense some enough to start coming forward..... Yes you Euro pros.

So Frankie and Jonathon and others have NOT written books because they lack th "sense of morals" that are bestowed upon Floyd and Tyler?

OMG, you guys crack me up.

Should be a great book, however.

Both still make their living in the sport, Landis and Hamilton do not and aren't active in the sport or the media that covers it.

I remember coming across these two articles. Apparently triathlete Matty Reed caused quite a stir when he mentioned some training he had done with Tyler. "He's a doper!" the masses exclaimed. It didn't take long for that coach/trainer status to come to an end.

The accusations:
http://www.examiner.com/endurance-sports-in-national/matty-reed-sparks-intense-debate-by-selecting-banned-cyclist-tyler-hamilton-as-his-bike-coach

The response:

(I'm only assuming that this is what BroDeal was referring to. Somewhat telling, in and of itself though)

Matt Reed (or BIG MATTY REED as he likes to call himself) announced that he was enlisting the services of Tyler Hamilton to be his cycling coach.
A few forums went into meltdown (particularly Slowtwitch), with many people wondering why BIG MATTY REED would use a someone with Hamilton's past as a coach.

Landis and Tyler are wanabees at this point. Pushed to the periphary of the king of sports they can only look in and wonder"what if".

It was more than just Matty. For the last 7 years he'd had persistent pests like yours truly posting on his website guest books and such that he needs to confess, for himself, and the good of the sport, etc. and the true blue cycling fans will forgive him if he is honest and contrite about it. (Many of these posts got taken down, btw).

I think this is just a mental hurdle to overcome, that's all. He can rationalize it away, or not, but I think he can mentally accept it for what it is and not feel like he never would have won anything without PEDs, because the truth is in a clean world, we'll never know what would have happened.

As to the gold medal, that does have to make him bitter, knowing that if it's taken away it would be given to Eki, who lined up for the same desert and toppings at the same USPS bar all those years.

No, I don't know him, but is that what you do with friends of yours or people you care about who have problems, or are in trouble? Just leave them alone?

I'm all but certain when he's mentally healthy he can make his own decisions, regardless of who posts something on his website, or if people leave him completely isolated. That's a false dilemma.

I like Tejas-patricio. Tyler Hamilton, nice guy.

Well, when I read things like this; http://www.tdfblog.com/2005/04/tyler_hamilton__1.html

I kind of wonder who these posters are. I kinda wonder, was the identical blood type of Haven part of a pre-nup contract between her and Ty.?

People I know say Tylers' blood looked curiously similar to hers during is doping tests. Talk about a close marriage.

Memo to Tyler: Dude remember we know your dog died already and you wore the tags around your neck... bro ok?

I say keep to the fiction. Some of the worlds best authors were depressed too.

KL does not work for Mellow Johnny's or Lance or any of his associates. He owns a coaching company and a training center, which is as you note located downstairs at Mellow Johnny's. The trainng center could be located anywhere, and Livingston does not depend on Lance for one penny of his livelihood. He also works for Medalist sports and is quite involved with the ToC and their other races. As much as you would like to keep using this line, it only shows how little you really know.

Cheers.

Frankie did not work for Lance, but was fired by one of his groupies the week after he testified.

If you think that Wonderboy will not be petty and vindictive against the *** it shows how little you really know
