Sure if we're talking about someone like Buchmann, but ARANBURU??? I mean it's just his agent tbh, and I'm sure Cofidis pays him big bucks but someone like him should be able to get that somewhere else you would think. On the other hand he will be leader everywhere at Cofidis ofc.

Yes the ridiculously small race with 9 WT teams and all the best Pro teams. Gooikse Pijl is literally one of the most stacked .1 races every year cause a lot of topsprinters go.

Muur Classic is of course indeed a great race to dominate from them cause the little WT team that are there have their best team in Renewi Tour (just weird that they are at the same time honestly).



Al always wonder when these 2 French teams are going to understand that riding as many races as they just ruins their own riders. Yes riding a lot of races in necessary for points, but they completely overdo it. I genuinly do not understand why riders are still signing there when they know they will just get worn out for points.it

Fair enoug about Gooikse Pijl - can I use Tour of Leuven instead?? They almost 1,3,4,5 that race until Rasmus tiller brought himself and Abrahamsen down when they chased Hoealgaard ahead. It was embarrassing. 300 some uci points in Durcell Dwaar Hageland also. I think this is a shame in general.

Yes they need to start in de CdF races (and it's easy points most of the time), but they also do every single Belgian race, Arkea does every single small Italian race (often also known als pretty low level), ... It's A LOT, and at some point you gotta wonder if it's smart and not better to go with a dominant team to lesser races (like in Druivenkoers were Arkea got 2nd and 3rd cause they simply had a really strong team there).

You are correct. I'm a Cofidis fan and thus very biased. But Cofidis sends most of their best riders to the WT calender that they are obliged to compete in while Uno-X takes full advantage and even send bad teams to Volta Catalunya etc, but full stack belgian 1.1.'s.

Cofidis would never be where they are (WT) without stacking the french calender for years. I am not blind just biased.

I think the whole system needs an overhaul is the general point. It can't be that you get 50 points for winning a stage in Dauphine and 125 points for winning Tour of Leuven. That seems so incredibly wrong to me.

This year they also sent almost as good a team as possible with Leknessund, Kulset and a THJ returning from injury. Cort would’ve probably been there if he wasn’t injured.

Of course you don’t see them send guys like Kristoff, Wærenskjold, Abrahamsen, Tiller etc to Catalunya in the middle of the cobble season.

Interesting that their own 2024 ranking isn't exactly the same as the 2024 column here. Ineos for example misses around 50 points, Lotto 75 points, Alpecin 30 points, Jayco 5 points, ... Trek has 30 points too much on the other hand.

Do you know if they are guaranteed sponsorship for that long ? I would say about a 95% chance of them going down at this point. Can't see them getting TDF or Vuelta invites if so. Italian races and maybe Giro on the books the coming years?

I don't see many compelling reasons to sponsor them beyond 2025. As I see it, they are poorly managed, poorly performing, not well-liked in general and have no big stars.

It counts for the team he's registered to, so in this case it will be the pro team. If a dev rider rides for the pro team, his points will count for the dev team.

Uno-X had a disappointing last couple of months I feel despite Cort's victory on Sunday. They would have hoped for more this season from Tiller, THJ and Leknessund. Kron's a good signing for them and they won't be losing anybody too important, but will it be enough to either catch up to Cofidis in the 3-yr league or challenge their unknown opponents (Tudor/Astana?) for the 2026 auto-wildcards.

They need to catch up around 2850 points on Cofidis right? That will be difficult even with a very good season next year. Let's say they continue their progression and score a massive 11 000 points next season. Then Cofidis need to bag 8.150 which is about what they did this year, and should be considered a big underperformance. Cofidis will target points next year like crazy and should probably manage to do the job.

The real battle as I see it for next year is between Uno-X and Tudor for the auto-wild card for WT one day races. I think Uno-X got the edge but Hirschi and Alaphilippe may make it close if they are on form all year.

If Uno-X lose that battle, they they are cooked. Probably no TDF invite from 2026 onwards and riders will leave.

Not just one-day races. Uno-X is likely to secure GT wildcards too for 2026.
