Su is the most valuable Astana rider. Without him there would not be Chinese money and the team would be set to relegate at the end of the season.

I'm indifferent. I just enjoy the battle.
I was most interested in following Astana after they got new sponsors last year. They were so far back, but not impossibly distant, that I thought with would be fun to track their progress. Would they make a big enough investment to get the job done?

Its better if UNO X skips the Vuelta (if they even skip a race at all because their talented riders will become better with a GT under their belt) because Cofidis wouldnt.

sadly UNO-X cannot take a part in La Vuelta (which is going to be a huge points grab for small teams) , because the way they are going they could have pass a lot of teams including PICNIC and even WANTY and even JAYCO. i bet they will try hard in the coming tour, but there are not a lot of points to give away when POGI is around.
however i can still see a large probability for UNO-X to actually qualify this years.

I mean Cofidis is just done for, let's be honest. Who do they have to get a big amount of points this season? And their French farming season if over apart from like 3 races in August.

Unless they start going to China it's over for them. But like I've said before. Probably the team who would be hurt by relegation the least. No stress for them, sure maybe the sponsor doesn't necessarily like it but they are safe for the Tour even if they miss out on the top 3 one of the upcoming years (and I don't think that's immediately gonna happen).

They really need to get stage wins at the tour from all Aranburu, Buchmann, Ion. Maybe Aranburu can score a few good results and Buchmann can top 3 at the KOM classification. So vino already said astana will go for it as they have noone for beeing better than top 10 in gc, but with tejada possibly out, i dont know whether higuita or champoussin will be able to get the needed points

Buchmann isn‘t really a good KOM candidate because he can‘t sprint for the points. He‘ll probably ride for 12th on GC or something, which wouldn‘t be that bad since stage hunters will probably not have a good time with Vingegaard and Pogačar in the race.

Interesting that Arkea is doing better lately and will be passing Q36.5 on the 2025 ranking tomorrow (probably). They will also jump over Intermarché, which is the only team that really can't afford to relegate (their advantage towards Cofidis is still well over a 1000 points). Arkea is also creeping closer to Cofidis and Tudor (difference will be around 500 points depending on what happens in Copenhagen). It's surprising but they are not out of it for the top 3 and thus guaranteed WCs.

I'm still assuming they are folding given there is still no news, but this might give them some hope.
