A bit more than 100 points for Cofidis today, tomorrow another 150 probably out of china. Gap to UNO X in half and with more races (especially Tokyo) and Johannessen now out for UNO X it's looking like they still might save themselves. Paris Tour will be very important for UNO X tomorrow, they need something there probably, or need a suprise in Italy if Cofidis does what it has to do in Asia

Also Cofidis seems to be safe for guaranteed wild cards at least.
Saying that it’s looking like they still might save themselves it’s a stretch. Even without any points from UNO-X on any other race Cofidis are still about 300 points behind them. With THJ UNO-X might have extended the gap fully even today, without him (and Andreas also coming out of a crash) Cofidis has a lifeline for sure, but they have to work for it. One of Cofidis problems for this end of the season is that some of their key riders have too many race days on their legs. Sure, Izagirre did well today, but he has 81 race days. Arunburu about the same. Thomas 84. Buchamnn 76. As an historical team, at this stage I just hope that Cofidis can stay ahead of Total in the year ranking to get the WT wildcards.

I agree that that I shouldve used a different expression. I just ment that they are in it again and that they have a chance. Around 280 tomorrow (IF UNO X doesn't do good in PT) is bridgabale if they do good in Asia. But of course it won't be easy.

Total threw last night in Japan and I doubt they score a lot in PT and Holland so I think Cofidis is good on that end

I don't have the feeling it's all that important for UNO X anyways. If it was they would be in Japan probably. I still think performance wise they would be better of as a Pro Team anyways, as I haven't seen any signs of the sponsors having trouble with it (of course more chance you get good riders and more sponsors as a WT team but I don't think they'll be missing guaranteed WCs anytime soon anyways). With Cofidis it seems different. Apparanelty Cofidis has let them known they might invest a bit less if they are not WT (but in the end I don't think they will).

I think it should matter for next transfer window if they have two WT seasons after.

Not sure about Japan but they did try to get invited to Guangxi but didn't get a spot. Travelling to Japan for 1 race is very expensive which is likely why they instead have been doing the full Italian circuit this fall. They will have done 14 italian races in September and October compared to only 4 last year.

Also I think it matters a fair deal to the Reitan group, that owns Uno-X, that they not necessarily get WT but that they can attract more sponsors and that will likely take WT status. It would also be very beneficial if they could get the money to restart their development team since with Coop - Repsol possibly folding there wouldn't be any good stepping stones for young talent between junior or amateur ranks and the professional team.

As a team I also get the impression that they are running on empty at this stage. They have various riders with injuries or long term issues (THJ, Cort, Kron, and others) and a big part of their bottom half of riders are closer to a CT then WT level (with all the respect to them). They will be Ok without the WT license but for sure it will make a difference if they are ambitious.

If they do get the WT license they will certainly go through a roster shift most likely, not ahead of next year since it's very late for that but ahead of 2027 if they get a new sponsor and more money.

Though tell me what team that isn't running on empty this late in the season yet they still get results from Kulset, THJ before injury, AHJ, Blikra, Hoelgaard, and Abrahamsen and a few more.

Going through their roster for next season it's not really that bad even compared to other WT teams.

Clearly good enough for WT level:
THJ
AHJ
Cort
Kron
J. Kulset
Abrahamsen
Waerenskjold
Hoelgaard
Dversnes
Tiller
Leknessund
Byström
Blikra
Fredheim

Then there are young talents who may still prove they have the level (some of these are very close to WT level already but things can quickly go either way):
Holter
Löland
Tjötta
Dalby
Bevort
Pedersen
Ingebrigtsen
Svarre

Question marks over long term future:
Hvideberg
Urianstad Bugge
Skaarseth
Resell
Blume Levy

Even among these latter ones you have riders who have struggled with injuries etc. who might still develop more potential or usefulness. And even so some of them are good loyal workers.

over in Japan, Vini Fantini looks likely to reduce the gap to Bardiani to less than 150pt, who basically have no more chances to score more than a handful of points.

Rajovic heads home now to 2.2 Serbia, where he can potentially win all stages for ~60 points. Tsarenko and Arashiro need to do the rest at the Japan Cup then. A double Top 10 might do.
