But he's 20yo.

I don't know why people consider him a world championship favorite or put him in the top 3.

It's like I said last year with Hagen, too early, too long.
Like I said, I don't know if he can do it after 260 kms. But that's a different story. I was reacting to someone who said he could only win by beating a small group in the sprint.

I usually do make safe bets. Like Nibali not being able to beat Anton like I predicted before the Vuelta. Or Fränk Schleck coming up short as top climber (again). How the hell should I know Anton would break something again

he always does so a safe bet would be taking that into account :p

anyway it doesn't seem like portuguese eurosport will be covering the worlds :'(

Thanks. This means British Eurosport should show it as well.

The only reason they wouldnt would be if sky had bought it but they clearly havent because bbc are showing it, and only on the red button at that.

Sagan can do both, I think (wait for the sprint or make a selection). Don't know if he's able to do it after 260 kms, but he's no Freire or something. He can actually attack.

He could attack... Is P-N the only time he's done that (TdU also)?

Can he attack and drop Cancellara, Gilbert, Evans, Italy, Spain? I give someone with the experience and record of Schleck a better (still small) chance of doing that than Sagan.

WTF? Could they have made the bridge any narrower? Probably didn't have any money left after all those millions they gave to the UCI :p

Its not the bridge that will slow them down, its the two hairpins before it that will.

Exactly, they changed the road so there was a chicane before the bridge and after the descent as you would not want the riders going into a skinny bridge at 70km/hr. Instead they will be going at around 20km/h so that will make the final climb more descisive as they will not have the advantage of the speed from the descent.

I think I'm going to watch the race from that trees overhanging branch for the couple of laps it lasts and then there will be another chicane for the riders to worry about

To fellow residents of the the United Kingdom. I think British Eurosport falls under the Eurosport International in the above schedule as from the tv guide, it looks like British Eurosport will be showing the WC but only highlights :( and brief 1 hour ones at that. I dont know what it will look like for the road race. Probably short highlights as well.

Yeah, but the BBC are showing the full race live, so it's not all bad. I will stick it on Sky+ and just watch it slightly delayed.

:)

Good coverage but seems to be all 'red button/online' except the hour highlights:

BBC:

29 Sept - Women's time trial 0600-0750 BST, Red button/online
30 Sept - Men's time trial 0400-0835 BST, Red button/online
2 Oct - Women's road race 0400-0735 BST, Red button/online
2 Oct - Highlights of the action so far 1430-1630 BST, BBC1/online
2 Oct - Men's road race 2240-0610 BST, Red button/online
3 Oct - Highlights of men's road race 1300-1400 BST BBC2/online

BBC coverage

You cant record off BBC red button.

Can you?

Good question. You certainly can on freeview as the 'red button' is just another channel.

I guess on sky it would be a case of tuning into the red button stream within the 'other channels' function, and then recording manually through sky+? maybe...hmm... I will have a look later..!:)

Edit:
Frequencies for the red button streams are here; http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

go to 'add channels' function and simply tune them in. I'm still not entirely sure if you can record from the 'other channels' area though...
