Wout Poels is often listed as Wouter, apparently that's his given name. It's a bit like Christopher Horner: no-one calls him that.

I don't really get their current selection as it is, but who cares, they'll probably still do just as well.

I would have liked Rojas to be in it, but okay, I pretty much agree with the rest. Most guys are already showing their good form in the Vuelta or Canada.

Zubeldia seems, after 8 years, a nice addition to me, riding with the very best (except for Gesink) in Montreal and he should still have one hell of a pair of fresh legs.
The change of mind about racing from SamSan should mean he's feeling too good not to start and keen on performing well. Great news.
Purito going to Australia makes me a bit anxious. It's pretty sick he will race and I'm wondering if he isn't pushing himself too hard to prove himself in his first year as a leader.
LL Sanchez and Barredo are obvious. Topclass allrounders.
Garate.. I would rather left him at home. It just doesn't suit him. Another Erviti-type or Rojas would please me more.
Ventoso showed his form in Brussels and he can play a protective role for Oscar in the first 200k, together with Erviti.
Freire didn't impress at the Vuelta, but he will be there. Oscarito ftw!

Did anyone else notice that Allan Davis was 40th on the Bola stage, only 5+mins behind the winner?
For a semi sprinter, that is a very good result and his form is really looking good for the Worlds.

That's the last two MTFs he's done well. It's good to see that he has his commitment back and working hard to get into form, something which was clearly missing at the start of the season.

I still don't think he can win the Worlds though.

Wait, the UCI allows up to 220 riders for the WC, where a good amount of them will be practically amateurs from lesser cycling countries, and yet a race like the Giro di Lombardia can't have more than 200 riders because it'd be dangerous otherwise so some small teams have to get rid of some guys to make room for RadioShack?

Then again, it's the UCI.

Thats right. The World Championships will be at the same time as the Clasico RCN. And the colombian teams prefer this race.

With Uran and Ardilla not participating there will be only four colombians in the road race.
