so the good news: We have identified about 60 riders as tourist or otherwise after stage 1. These guys can now try and make the race or help team mates win something rather than wheelsuck the peloton.

I'd replace at least 6 of those riders for these 4: Caruso, Acevedo, Atapuma, Deignan

Joe D. had a pretty nasty nosebleed. No wonder he kept dropping back to the medical car. Was wondering what was wrong.
 
Cooke, Lemus and Schar's gap has extended to 2.20 min. They're on Independence Pass.


Kennaugh has abandoned. I guess that's what happens when you're partying in Ibiza five days before a race held at crazy altitude. ;)

Dombrowski, Boswell, Pate and Edmondson will soon be on their own. Hell, I actually prefer 3-4 men teams in one week races anyway.

Edit: nothing but DNFs for him this season so far though

actually he's won many races this year(7 or 8 I think), but he's not in good form recently.
