And you can be sure any expenditure on USADA wouldn't event make a pixel on that graph.

So stop that old wank.

Brilliant. Laughed a lot at this

They're smart to stay out of it until he's convicted. last thing you want to do is generate unneccesary good will to yourself. Plus most of them only rode with him a couple/few years at most, as theres been a lot of turnover in the peloton since his last tour win
They didn't wait for Riccò to be convicted. As soon as the story hit the media, they were all over him, even though it was not clear how much of the story being reported was true yet.

I always liked the fast and furious. Apt, that one.

Bravo usada !!

i see sweet irony here...a low budget agency has accomplished so much more that the loaded federal agency !

in a way, these charges are far more devastating because they not only re-iterated the fraud and conspiracy charges pursued by novi, but they directly accuse the key fraudster of doping as it always should have been.

the tour of switzerland cover up is likely going to be the biggest follow up story
that will have the uci heads roll down.

As i stated in " Skippyblogging " , if i were Lance i would send ALL his accusers a copy of " IF "!

Having won a 70.3 and podiumed several times there is nothing more to prove !

Lance walk away , head held high ! Certainly you are head and shoulders above the accusers and regardless of what you do , there will always be those " mushrooms " that reek of jealousy !

Yeah, I love that poem!

IF you can keep your red blood cell count high when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on three weeks of racing,
If you can trust your hemotologist when all in The Clinic doubt you,
But scorn and demean them for their doubting too;
If you can storm up an HC col and not be tired,
Or lie about your friends' testimony, what's one more lie?
Or being hated, don't give way to haters,
And yet don't show compassion, nor kindness:
If you can dream big, and believe in miracles;
If you like your credibility, even though you have none;
If you can meet with Ferrari and Bruyneel
And treat those two cheats just the same;
If you can bear to hear your doctor
retroactively produce a TUE;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one night of hookers and blow,
And test positive for PED's,
And never breathe a word about your payment to the UCI;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To accept testosterone, HGH, and EPO,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except these drugs and an extra litre of blood which says to them: 'Chaarge!'

If you can talk to the crowds in Paris and keep a straight face,
' Or ride up mountains with domestiques holding a GC man's pace,
if neither foes nor so-called friends can stand you,
If all men work for you, but none deserve your respect;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of lying to cancer patients,
Yours is a special kind of evil,
And - which is more - you'll be a cheating, lying, disgraced so-called 7 time Tour de France winner, my son!

Yes! Greg Lemond and Lance Armstrong held a joint
press conference and both admitted to years of
blood doping and drug taking. God bless them.

Got me raising an eyebrow after the first line before I realized this was just some creative paragraph formatting.

In al seriousness, I am still missing the link between The Hogmeister being served and the USADA affair.
Is there or is there not a criminal angle to this mess?

I am asking myself this very same question.

Testimony from self confessed liars like Landis is not proof of anything!
Hugh

If that were true, mobsters would never have to worry about snitches!

Proving that Lance doped and trafficked will not be much of a problem. The ten liars will cross-corroborate each other and then there is other physical evidence and expert testimony. And these liars are people that Lance associated with very closely--and lied with!

There isn't a jury. The standard is not beyond a reasonable doubt. The arbitrators will be relatively sophisticated.

Lance may have arguments relating to the age of the case (it really is groundbreaking there) but he doesn't have any good arguments that he didn't dope and traffic. USADA owns Lance on that issue.

No negative publicity to be generated to be be all over a guy who is a complete trainwreck. Plus Ricco kept trying to race and was essentially always around, where lance took his ball and went home.

OK, I'm sure all those absolutely negligible differences are the reason, no double standards or anything.

The negative publicity bit you mention is what I'm getting at, but I wouldn't call it "avoiding negative publicity", I'd call it "being a spineless hypocrite", or "being David Millar".
