Unfortunately, the process is never a short one. And I don't have a problem with that as long as the truth eventually comes out. I think this will be the final verdict on Armstrong's cycling career. The investigation will either leave him basically unscathed or his legacy will be permanently destroyed.

As long as the truth comes out....so if they find that Lance is innocent you'll be happy and content I'm guessing?

Not just the Nice organizers, banned by the WTC means all sanctioned events i.e toast to Kona as well. It's in their bylaws, no choice unless Nike rewrites them... $$$$$.

I truly hope they nail him, but every day I talk to people who recite his responses as though they were gospel, call him a true American hero, and say no matter what happens he'll remain one because it isn't true what they're accusing him of.

And one of the saddest things is that this contributes to the rest of the world's view of the USA: that in the USA a 'true American hero' is someone who comes out on top no matter what means they use to get there.
(I'm British, and I very much regret the CAS decision that allows David Millar to compete in the Olympics.)

Bizarrely in todays Guardian Newspaper there's an anti cancer insert featuring Armstrong. I suppose they weren't able to pull it in time.

I have mixed feelings about the USADA charges. Make no mistake the whole Armstrong saga makes cycling look ludicrous but it's good to see that he's finally been brought to book. Frankly, I wish he'd just go away.

I wonder if News Corp will revisit the Times defamation litigation? They can if they want to.

If USADA can make this case stick Armstrong will be done. Done in the sense that his reputation will be finished, his future career opportunities in cycling or politics will be minimized, he'll probably be sued and who knows what else happens. Imo that is fair.

However striping him of the victories and either give the wins to guys like ullrich & basso or vacating the titles imo does nothing but bad for cycling.

It is simple. If you are innocent you have nothing to hide and you cooperate fully in an investigation.

If you are guilty you do everything in your power to prevent the investigation.

Armstrong is behaving exactly as a guilty person would. Without all the evidence that we in the clinic already know about, hence we know he is guilty, but his actions speak louder to those with half a brain.

IronMan is not Olympic sport

it doesn't have to be. but if they subscribe to the WADA code (which they do) the USADA charges mean the WTC has to prevent him from competing in any of their races

Back at the start of the great (Lost) Hope Returns comeback, at the same time as the Catlin deception, Lance posted his blood values on his web site. Apparently believing that nobody could see the obvious.

In fact, they looked quite strange with some quite odd swings.

In typical 'Emperor with No Clothes' style, His Highness' hubris apparently blocked his perception of the painfully obvious.

I believe there is at least one thread here on the subject.

The work here caused fanboy alerts that ultimately saw the blood values disappear off his web site.
