People don't forget the ITT is uphill, and only 16km.

It's a semi-mountain ITT almost, at altitude.
Then also don't forget that the only decent gradients are in the latter half of the TT. The average Colombian will still lose about a minute in the first part.

This year he's better on the descents and the flat parts in the time trial :p Look at Pais Vasco, he did the fastest descent there, or close to it.

Gesink once again taking the prize for highest cadence in the peloton, BTW.

This race has no interest for me but I'll see it because of the quality of the stream. It's the biggest attraction of the american stage races:) I hope it spreads to other races!

Yeah he's taking Armstrongs high cadence thing too far. He has nothing left for accelerations. He's such a one-dimensional rider nowadays. Tempo riding is all he can do (wether it be on a climb or in the ITT).

If there were 300km races with 30km climbs he'd be a king

Just like many of the Tour of California, the race will be decided by the time trial
Yeah, I just thought about that. This is just a high altitude version of pre-2011 Tour of California. Hard, but a bit boring.

Radioshack leading the peloton now. Are they finally going to start chasing? Gap is nearly 5 minutes with some apparently strong climbers in the break.

It's likely to be decisive, yes, but the seconds LL grabbed yesterday including 10 bonus seconds for first place could make a big difference too.

Someone educate me a bit... why is the peloton strung out single file now? It's harder than riding in a bunch. Also, they're not bringing the breakaway gap down.

Gesinks amount of RPM makes me dizzy just looking at it...

As long as there are one-week stage races in the USA, Leipheimer will never retire.

He has no reason to yet. He doesn't seem to have the long term endurance for grand tours anymore, but he's excellent at one week races. Remember he won Suisse this year too.
