Thought it was quite hard actually, wasn't able to pick all the climbers that I would have preferred. I agree about the whole All-rounder thing too

Well you'll be happy for the riders you like doing well no matter what and now you can be happy if Leech does well.

I don't understand why they make make us choose riders from different categories. I don't find it makes for a "balanced" team at all. I resented having to put a sprinter on my Giro team.

No idea how this can be called easy. I'm full of 6 and 8 pointers (including Horner who I thought would be worth twice that) and still struggled.

Ended having to go for Brad - well short for Cadel & one of the 6 point climbers - went for Di Gregorio as all the others look like being 3rd or 4th in their team's pecking order.

A Schleck, Wiggins, Coppell, DiGregorio, Cavendish, Boassen-Hagen, Horner, VanGarderen & Greipel.

Yes... I have Tony Martin atm :(

If I didn't have to spend so much there I could pick a decent Climber like Gesink or JVdB.

Same here. I wish those two guys were in that slot.

There will be a prize for the overall winner of the Teamskyfans minileague.

Already got goodies from IG markets, and CNP, one of TSF's new T-shirts, and a few more things to be added into the goodie pack.

If HTC wins the TTT would they give the jersey to Martin? I don't think he'll do top 10 GC, but if he holds the jersey for a while and does well in the ITT he'll score some points.

I still wish I could stick Horner in that slot for 6 points and save some points for Gesink or VDB.

Some predictions

Fabian Cancellara (8 points) is not a good pick. A good chance he will win the time trail of course. But a couple of other domestiques worth 8 should score more points.

Hushovd at 16 points is too expensive. He will not get the green jersey, might win one stage but no more than that.

Tom Boonen at 14 points is a bad choice, will score less points than Hushovd.
And Petacchi, who costs 14 points will do better than Boonen anyway.

You need Contador or Andy Schleck on your team to win this game.

Help

So, these are the real questions:

Taaramae, Kern, Rui Costa, Horner, Van Garderen or Velits? a)

Gesink or VDB? b)

What's the better set:

"a), b) and a 2 point dude" or "Cunego, Goss and De Gendt"?

Thanks all.

My thoughts

I think Contador and Schleck should dominate the real tour, and if true you'll need one of the two to win this. Not sure both are possible on one team while still maintaining enough points with the other riders. They were by far the two most valuable riders last year in this game (with Schleck actually earning more points). I like Schleck as a better value for a few reasons.

I'd agree that the second GC rider requirement is a burden. Not sure any of the 10-14 point guys earn many points, although I'm intrgued a bit by Kloden, Vino, Hesjedal, and Martin. One of these guys probably does decently well. Martin not so much overall, but if HTC wins the TTT, then he may be able to rack up some early points for being near the top of the leaderboard.

Same problem with the Climbers. You need two, but not sure anyone worth 10 or less earns much. Mouncoutie's midly interesting. But I'd rather spend at least 12 on someone who might earn something than 6-10 on someone likely to get minimal points. Also weird that many GC candidates lurk here. After AC and AS, the next 4 overall finishers could come from this group (Samu, VDB2, Gesink, Schleck the Elder).

Sprinters - would love Cavendish, but not sure how to fit him in money wise.

Domestiques - Having Horner here is interesting. He's probably equal to Leipheimer at half the cost, but not sure either earns that many points. Budgeting getting tough.

Wild-card - I tend to like a second sprinter here

I'm also inclined to pick Kern and Gesink
