What a pull he did! Not sure why though. Did he really think Scarponi could win the stage?! Honestly I don't get the reason. Maybe just part of his training plan for the day. 5 minutes full gas. :D

Epic face from Valverde when he was caught. LOL

Valverde looked how everyone else looks like
And Nibali trained for some TT in 5% climb or I do not know what he tried but no reason related to Dauphine crossed my mind

He was working to get the stage for Scarponi.

Some people tend to forget that not all rider can be on top form for many consecutive months (see Valverde). Nibali is probably one of those riders who prefer to focus on few objectives.

Andy Schelck did the same in the past (with the exception of his LBL 2009 win).

Euh let's look a the recent years.

2012: won TA, should have won LBL, placed 3rd at the tour and was somewhat relevant at WC. And wasn't it in 2012 he did the crazy attack in lombardia? Could have been 2011 not sure

2013: won TA, won trentino, won giro, 2nd at the vuelta and prob the best man at worlds.

Yeah sounds like nibali is that guy who can only do good in 1 race a year....

You forgot the MSR podium in 2012. Since we are after Dauphine and at 2012 it is worth mentioning that in Dauphine 2012 the stage to Morzine he finished nine minutes down to the winner, a certain Quintana. This didn't prevent him to be the best of the rest later in that Sky Postal Tour.

And then comes the Tour and it's BOOM-BOOM-BOOM 6 W/Kg on every single last climb.
Yesterday while pulling Nibbles probably said to FroomeyDog "here let me give you a sweet, cause next month you're gonna cry".

Hey i predicted nibali to win this tour, no need to tell me that last stat :)

The squallo is back. He has come into top shape just in time, which means along with Quintana he probably will be at maximum in the Tour. I say along with Quintana, because like the Colombian he has kept a low profile during his build up to the French race, whereas Contador obviously will need to be coming up higher from the Giro, while Froome has been going strong longer than the Sicilian.

Should be an interesting July.

Beating Ulissi, he looked even stronger than last year against Formolo in Trentino.
Nonetheless they should teach him how to attack: 2 or 3 times he pulled out of his hat the trademark 10’’ attack in which he starts too strong and then has inevitably to slow down and be caught again.

He never left. Perhaps he realized only old school one big time peak could make him win the Tour .

This thinner and stronger version of Nibali is also less explosive than he was previously. He could very well be gapped on Huy, though I still think it's more likely the big 4 will get the same time. Mûr de Bretagne shouldn't cause any gaps between them. On the other hand, Nibali should do very well in the echelons and on the cobbles, especially if it rains. If he needs to, he will certainly use the descents of Manse, Allos and Glandon, which should be quite the spectacle.

All aboard the hype train.

You're in denial if you don't think he'll be amazing in the tour. Wake up, cause it'll hurt otherwise.
Miburo, I am getting quite annoyed by the way you pretend to know exactly what I (will) think/feel.

I don't pretend. Not giving myself any credit. As a contador fangirl, you'll be hurt when you're in denial about other favorites their form.

I would say that about every fangirl or fanboy cause it's a fact.

I know froome won't. But do you think piti, contador and quintana will try to stay with him in the descents?

Edit: and will they succeed in their attempt?

Depends on the situation. Piti doesn't dare to, I think. Froome cannot. Neither Quintana. Contador will at least try to, especially if he has to.

He said recently, based on pave recon that he predicts important gaps there an he certainly will go for it.

Isn't quintana considered to be a great descender? I didn't see the races but i heard he did great ones. And he had an excuse in tds.

I've seen piti do great descents, i think he might give it a go with nibali and nibali might be wise to keep him on board. You're right about contador, he'll only try when he's forced to, not sure if that will be enough though.

The pave stage is as hard as last year and way longer stage.
