right. his only hope is that froome fades, and hard. Because time is ticking and the last week is not so favorable
Why shouldn't froome fade?
He's only human isn't he
;)

And why should Froome fade?
He is the same human of the last vuelta. ;)

Be careful not to confuse a hope / chance with certainty

Have Bahrain bought Nibs any decent mountain doms for next season yet?

Pozzovivo and it seems like Pelizotti still got it. His brother wasn`t horrible yesterday and reduced the peleton to 40 riders with a little more improvement he could be useful. His best mountain helper Javier Moreno was out early in both Grand Tours this year.
If those four are healthy and Visconti decides to work instead of chasing stage wins (great job yesterday by the way) they are as good as any team not named Sky.
I would like to see better support on flat stages with cross wind and echelons. Remember Westra during the Tour 2014...he did an incredible job on the cobbles and was able to lead the peleton for 100+ kms (even on some medium mountain stages).
People like Knees or Kyrienka are underrated by the common cycling fan but there aren`t a lot of guys in the field with the ability to pace the peleton for hours. Cyclists and managers know how valuable these riders are...Knees for example got a 2 year contract extention.

A week ago I thought that his team was complete trash but it seems like they peaked for second and third week.

Ion Izaggire, Sioutsu and Navardauskas were supposed to ride this Vuelta, I can only imagine with these guys dedicated, healthy and in form what can happen. Let's not forget for next year besides Pozzo there's Gorka too who can be very valuable.

The thing about the rivarly between Aru and Nibali is that is pure press BS. They get along very well. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Aru ends up helping Nibali during the Vuelta.

Today? - Maybe Sunday would be better.

No need to really work today and look bad when you're going to blow the rest of the race away in the future ;)

more seriously, that was a nice little bonus. Could probably have taken more if there was a coordinated effort but ah well

Voodoo strikes again. Magic Nibali Voodoo.

Nibali must have saved a million lives in his previous life to get such good karma

He always puts pressure on the opponents, it is not his fault that people can't stay on their bikes. But he definitely contributes in making other people do mistakes.
If anything, he has been an unlucky rider, as he could have an Olympic and rainbow jersey among other races, if he did not crash at the end. But as he said, is part of the game, not bad luck.

First time Froome fell very close to Vincenzo, they were going fast enough. Nibs implies that they didn't slow down for Froome, they were pulling to catch Contador, you don't play a waiting game with 10 K to go.

Anyway hopefully Contador will have the legs to stress Froome more along the way. Nibali needs another strong guy who attacks and invents something in order to break the train and put Froome in difficulty. As for today, regardless of what some overexcited posters here have suggested, him joining Berto would have been a bad idea for both, Froome would have never let them ride away.

After this musical intermezzo and the good vibes inside Bahrain team - "Vincenzo gives us good feelings – says Giovanni Visconti, at his tenth Grand Tour – and this is so much motivated for us", we can look forward with hope for a very important weekend.

I'd say tomorrow mano a mano in the last 4k and total war on Sunday.

Tomorrow is almost a monoclimb stage, hope he doesn't blow himself up in following. Plenty of tougher multi mountain stages to come where he can strike

I'm not too worried of today, although it is single MTF, there is around 100km of legbreaker terrain before it. Not an easy stage in any regards and definitely harder than i.e Blockhaus stage in Giro. And the last climb should favor Nibs in terms of gradients.

I hope Bahrain will put their lesser doms to work hard before the final climb in case other teams won't drill it.

I think he was pretty pissed off after crossing the line.

More because of frustration than Alberto not helping.
AC taking a turn or two wouldn't have made any difference.
Yeah, but all those accelerations don't help. Contador doesn't help. Meanwhile Froome goes on one pace with what I assume is a headwind. Nibali is better than Froome, but only just.
