If he wins Liege I don't really mind how he does in the giro, I won't be sober till the end of May anyway.Rollthedice said:If he wins Liege I can live this year with only a podium in Giro.
Were you planning on being sober until then either way?Gigs_98 said:If he wins Liege I don't really mind how he does in the giro, I won't be sober till the end of May anyway.Rollthedice said:If he wins Liege I can live this year with only a podium in Giro.

I would actually be a little surprised if Nibali podiums the Giro this year, just with the strong level of competition: Tom D, Bernal, Roglic, S Yates, Lopez, and I am probably forgetting some other chances. But just to defeat three of those five would be impressive.
plus The Dolphin in the car as DSRollthedice said:Smashing team for Tour of the Alps: Antonio, Wang, Garosio, Agnoli, Pernsteiner and the man himself. The band of brothers got down from Teide and picked up a Chinese dude on their way to Kufstein.
I hope Rollthedice is right as I like Nibs he is a great bike rider with all the skills and a courageous tactical style. I just hope he isn't starting the downwards drift of age just yet as the competition at this Giro is sumpreme and will expose any weaknesses. If he can hit a proper form and he is not on a declining spiral and having the best endurance of the field in this Giro, I don't see a reason why he can't fight for the win
huge said:I hope Nibali is planning to peak not too far into the race. If he wants to win the Giro, he cannot afford to lose time during the first or second week. A 2016 come back is a once in a life time thing, especially with this year opponents.
I'm really curious to see his shape at the ToA, even though I don't expect anything spectacular.
He will probably suffer a bit the sudden accelerations on the climbs, as he is coming back from a long training camp at altitude, with no racing in his legs since Milan - Sanremo.
The Shark won't be Sharp.
Doesn't matter as I wouldn't believe them either way.Red Rick said:What I wonder is when they're talking about Nibali being 'on the same track as in his best years' if they mean 2013 or 2014.

I wouldn't mind late 2017 shape, Giro dell'Emilia with San Luca and Lombardia.
