I wanted him to destroy the ultra endurance gravel scene guys just for the salt they would provide.....

I still get anxiety by how early he celebrates.Exactly 5 years ago today, 17th March 2018. The most beautiful days.

I think part of the beauty of win Sanremo is the crossing line with you arms wide, with the bunch closing down behind you, you have to win with the ultimate roll-of-the-dice and that early celebration is the last little element of risk to crown it all.I still get anxiety by how early he celebrates.
Win Sanremo or win 'celebrate too early' thread.I think part of the beauty of win Sanremo is the crossing line with you arms wide, with the bunch closing down behind you, you have to win with the ultimate roll-of-the-dice and that early celebration is the last little element of risk to crown it all.
It's a very aesthetic finale, and such a celebration makes all the photos look better.
But I know what you mean , at the time I almost had a heart failure when he start celebrating and the finish line doesn't come into frame for a very long time
I was waffling a bit on my last post, I think what I meant to say was that you have to look cool when winning on via roma, you honor the race by sitting up and saluting the crowd, and Vincenzo knew thisWin Sanremo or win 'celebrate too early' thread.
Win/win situation
Back to racing in Mtb
More recent however the news that Vincenzo Nibali will return to compete on two wheels but not on the road, but on the dirt road in Mountain Bike. Revealing his schedule, Nibali let it be known that he will race at theAndalusia Bike Race (February 27-March 4) and to follow in South Africa in the Cape Epic (March 19-26). The second is the most important appointment, the Spanish one seems to serve as preparation.
4 GT trophies on his shelfWhat if?...
His legs are still good, Paris almost one and a half year away... and that elusive Olympic medal... and even though with the likes of Pidcock, MVP, etc. he doesn't stand a chance, dreaming is more than enough as motivation, even for someone with three GT trophies on his shelf.
Just saying...
I've been following the raceAfter 2 stages of the Cape Epic, Vincenzo and his teammate Samuele Porro are sitting in 7th in the GC. They are + 15 minute 14 seconds behind the leaders, Nino Schurter and Andri Frischknecht. There are 680 teams in the race
These months have been hard, missed the road races a lot. After days of thought I’d like to inform you that I’ll be running again, presenting myself at the path of the next Paris Rubaix. Stay tuned

Today is April 1.
Well he got me good.......Today is April 1.
Even if he wanted, I think Astana's roster for Roubaix is too stacked for him to have a chance of being selected.
Tbf he was in the Giro last year and it wasn't exactly fireworks. But I do miss him as well. At least I would have been happy with these slow pacers, cuz he would have been able to follow <3Dear Vincenzo I miss you
His attacking attitude was vastly overrated in the final part of his career but at least he went for nonsense descent attacks to spice things up a bit. Like on Mortirolo last year or the stage when Moscon crashed the year before. He should've told Caruso how to do it.Tbf he was in the Giro last year and it wasn't exactly fireworks. He did attack quite a lot in 2021 iirc (or rather he went in quite a few breaks) but he simply wasn't able to do any damage. Last year was different though and I was quite surprised how passive he was. I guess he just decided his goal was to finish as highly as possible and with that goal in mind his tactics were correct. Still a bit disappointing he didn't pull a Contador in his final home GT.His attacking attitude was vastly overrated in the final part of his career but at least he went for nonsense descent attacks to spice things up a bit.
