Don't get your hopes too high for the Vuelta win. I'm sure he's 100% focused on the WC this time, so I don't think he's gonna dig too deep.
Not like another Vuelta win could change much for him (especially with almost zero competition).

sure but it's not legendary:D

Well, it'd go down as one of the most successful years in recent history. And he would be a three time GT winner and a world champion. If there were a cycling hall of fame that would be definitely be enough for him to enter don't you think?

Of course I don't like any of this premature talk. It's unsettling.

Plus as Max pointed out, it would put him in the select company of only 3 other riders to win Giro-Vuelta in the same year.

Don't think winning the Vuelta is too high a priority for him though, more focused on worlds I think.

Yup. And I'm gonna be right next to him on Fiesole when he makes the winning move.

That's more than Contador has achieved in a single year.

Why bring up AC? Their palmares not even close just yet.

IMO Nibs will ride Vuelta for training with peak for Worlds. That is the one he wants :) However if he finds he can win Vuelta without being at peak, why not? As long as he doesn't overtire himself for Worlds!

Because I was replying to La Flo.;)

I agree. Purito , Valverde and Quintana are likely to be tired from the Tour, Sammy, Henao, Betancur will be his main rivals. He does have a very good chance of winning even if not in peak form.

Of course it is. Because no one in the history has ever won Giro-Vuela-Worlds in a single year. If Nibali manage winning these three, naturally he will be a legendary bike rider.

Well Vuelta used to come before Giro so it was a totally different achievement to win both back then than it is now.

But also you have to consider that the worlds course changes every year. How many people that did the giro vuelta double then had a worlds course in their home country that was tailor made for them.

not sure about the legendary status even after such a performance.

Wiggins made another historical performance last year, but I don't think hes legendary either at this point.

Just an opinion.

It would be made for them if it finished 2 kms sooner. Man hasn't exactly got a sprint :(

It is just fate LOL, who could predict Wiggins becomes Nibali's arch-nemesis.:D
In a short period of 12 months, they could face each other three times in GT. So far it is a draw, 1 to 1. Maybe Nibali can give a fatal blow to Wiggins' career in the Vuelta.
