Nibali is taking his sweet time for completing the GT triple crown. I remember a certain rider from some far Southern-European country who won them all in 15 months.

Edit: Now I remember, he was from Spain

In all seriousness, Nibali is crushing the opposition like a worthy TdF winner

Haha, and don't forget, he was the youngest ever ;) 25

Agreed with the bolded, and Nibali definitely deserves a TDF win, it's just a shame that he gets it handed to him instead of having to fight for it like most TDF winners.

Yeah, it's a shame, but he can't give up now because of that.

By far the strongest rider in the race. Thought it was quite surprising he only got 10s on Majka and König, but then again he wasn't going all out.

Given the temperature I thinking going all out would have been almost impossible. He took back time while riding within himself. Very smart

As for this whole talk about what would have happened with Froome and Contador. I feel Froome never would have lasted this Tour with all the crashes and the rain. He just doesn't have the positioning skills or awareness. As for Contador I don't think he could have pulled back 2:30 on the climbs alone and it would have come down to the ITT

I also think Contador would have struggled to go with Nibali on the descent finish which is coming up.

He did what he needed to do, not a bit more. He was nowhere near his limit, saving it as there is still a long way to go. Alas I was hoping Valverde could test him, but as I said they are all Shark Bait.

But damn he has ridden like a Winner since the start! Just has to bring it home now, danger always lurks at le Tour.

That attack on Pinot and valverde was pretty awesome. Especially when he came around that corner damn he was going fast

The specific training he did to improve his acceleration def paid of.

ok just for the purpose of fun. Let's do this, if TP wins, I wear AC in yellow jersey pic for three days. If VN wins, you wear VN in yellow jersey pic for three days. If neither of them wins, nothing happened. On board?

I want to remind you that Contador's first TdF was handed to him by Rabobank who sent Chicken home while he was winning the Tour so these things happen. Frankly I'm a bit tired by all this would could stuff regarding Contador. He's home, wish him quick and good recovery and see him around.

Back to Nibali, I thought before the Tour that he had a slim chance to win if all cards would be played to perfection, surprise attacks, the cobbles stage, the classics type stages, a few dangerous descents, a good TT and the Giro 2013 form. But from what I am seeing now he would have clearly had a real chance to win it against Froome and Contador especially after the cobbles stage and with the 2:34 advantage. I said a chance so don't take it as a given.

Being more than ready to take on Froome and Contador it is no suprise he is crushing everybody left in the race.

Why don't you ask Tinkov what he thinks. :D :p

Definitely Nibali wanted THIS TOUR, he prepared a lot for it, ready to beat Froome ( not Contador ), he was positive about his chances since the beginning of the tour and now he reaps what he sow.

I don't think we'll see much more Nibali after the Tour. I feel he'll go home and play daddy for a while, then briefly come back for Lombardia. And that'll be about it. Which is for the very best because he's already raced a lot this year, and he'll need to refresh the batteries for next season and his assault on whatever GT he'll target.
