And people still question if the shark vodoo is real
No Evenepoel and probably no Carapaz or else a tired Carapaz
That leaves Simon Yates and we saw how he ran out of energy before
And Fuglsang ..well TT miles and high mountains should see him off
We know he is. We watch cycling. You think Nibali is a better TTer than Fuglsang?

In theory, what route even suits Thomas apart from TT heavy? I literally think his climbing form is too rare to even judge what climbs suit him, and in his Tour win he was just never in trouble.Thomas and maybe Kruijswijk, but yeah no Remco and Carapaz.
In theory the route is perfect for Thomas... if he finds form.
I expect maybe some other big gun missfiring at the Tour or dropping out early and showing up at the Giro.
I don't really worry about Bird.Depends. Both have been crap and good during their career. Nibali usually does good TTs when it matters and he's in proper shape, better than Birdsong. But between the two the difference should be made on the mountains, Nibali can't get a proper margin as it would have been with Carapaz in TT.

For Nibali's sake I worry about Dumoulin doing the Giro after the Tour.
And Vlasov.
I'm not dismissing Vlasov until he does stuff that's worthy of dismissalMore plausible from Jumbo to Giro would be Krashweak. Vlasov? Just a slightly better Zakarin.

Is calling him a slightly better Zakarin even dismissing? To me someone slightly better than a gt podium finisher sounds kinda dangerousI'm not dismissing Vlasov until he does stuff that's worthy of dismissal

Has Ineos actually said Carapaz will not ride Giro? The plan could also be to ride him into shape in Tour...
Nibalis, Brambilla and Bernard, who left with him training camp, all negative.Bad news, Ciccone positive for COVID, no Tirreno, who knows what next.

Remora + dreadful weather = win.Dodged the bullet for now. Ciccone is Nibali's only capable lieutenant for the Giro, I have no idea how this will impact his prep. Apparently he was also feeling tired so it's not just asymptomatic carrier.
Dude you can't just write covid in caps lock in the Nibali thread when he doesn't even have it. First moment I saw your comment I almost got a heart attack.Bad news, Ciccone positive for COVID, no Tirreno, who knows what next.
