Vino's win was the cycling equivalent to Tardelli's goal in the 82 world cup final.

I think you got the years mixed up here.
The 2008 Olympic RR was the equivalent of Tardelli's goal.

Vino's win was the equivelant of John Jensen's goal in the Euro 1992 final. Nobody thought he could do it, but he did :p

It's more lonely here than in the desert. Cheer up. Vincenzo says he's happy with how it went on Jebel though for some reason also in the past he didn't "digested" it well. Says he looks further to next tests. Putting some numbers together from various sources he went about 20 seconds faster than in 2017 and 2019.

"About my ambitions, between the GC and the hunt for the stages, I’ll find out along the way. "
So winning stages at the beginning and winning the gc at the end?

“My feeling was good; I wanted to do some high-revs to improve my condition. It was the right time to try as it wasn't too far to the finish and Ineos had just finished forcing the pace. Even though I knew the pace was too high to make a difference, I wanted to try.”

Free to train in TA and free to race in MSR.
It would be nice if he showed some form in TA. I really want him to be up there with the best.

About MSR... I still can't believe he was able to take that victory and that we are still talking about him being a threat in La Classicissima. Of any race in the calendar, this is one of those that suits him the least and yet he was still able to win. And he is still a threat. Not a favourite, but still an outsider.

So where is the Free Nibali going to show up. In T-A or do we need to wait until Milano-Sanremo?

It should be some kind of target for him this Tirreno affair. But, there's a watts festival going on in the peloton and the route is not quite friendly for our man. We'll see.
