I can think of 20 cases off of the top of my head were after someone as busted, they lost their edge. To say that he is no longer doping, is just a guess. A big guess at that. In all likelyhood, he just toned it down some like many others in the peloton.

Not to be persnickety, but I want to make it clear that at no point have I offered a declaration that I know for a fact that Vino is drug-free. Nor have I even unequivocally said that I believe he's riding drug-free. I absolutely accept the possibility that he may very well be engaged in some process, or taking a therapy, that violates anti-doping regulations.

But that's for another thread in another forum. Here I'd like to celebrate Vino the pro cyclist ... the Golden Eagle!

I AM UNASHAMED TO SAY THAT I AM A TOTAL FAN OF VINO THE SPORTSMAN AND, WHILE HE IS NO LONGER A MYTHICAL FIGURE TO ME, HE IS STILL LARGER [AND BLONDER] THAN LIFE!

No, Susan - thank YOU! Let's keep this Vino-thread Dope-Free!

Well, considering that at the time of your post there had only been 7 unique posters and two of them have since become mods...

"I'll say yes." :p

Just curious but what is this exchange refer to w/ respect to the contributors to this thread or otherwise trying to convey? It could be the lack of sleep, but the subtlety is lost on me. Thanks.

Go Vino! I haven't done anything with it yet (other than almost transfer control of the URL to Vino, though one of his henchmen, Viktor), but when the Golden Eagle made his comeback in that crazy strip that featured his own likeness, I registered the domain http://www.vino4-ever.com, as it was printed on Vino's comeback clothing. lol :D;)

It was just a silly joke referring to the fact that Barrus was playfully wondering if he should UNblock some of the previous posters (this was back on page 2). Since some of the aforementioned are now mods, I thought it would be funny to point that out. Now the humor is lost. :(

FWIW, for my own take on Vino, I refer back to this post from January!

Who has the Best/Worst riding style in the Peloton?

I just scanned this thread...and I can't believe no one picked Vino!
He always seems to blend the his own geometry, with that of his bike, perfectly.
He's the epitome of compact yet powerful; lean and mean.

TTing, climbing, attacking, sprinting...to me, that guy just looks like a pro cyclist should!

Great pics, Granville57. I might be partial to the one in bed, but the cycling ones are also great. :p

OT, but are you from Granville, NY? Our family had ancestors way back up that way.

Does anyone have a link to the fake Vino-Twitter account? I only read about it today on velonation and found it quite humerous. Maybe they have already shut it down though:

http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/8693/Astana-team-seeks-closure-of-fake-Vino-Twitter-account.aspx

April 15: Vino on Twitter. You will follow me.
April 16: Vino is ready at the Ardennes. My legs as strong as Kazakh steel.
May 9: No Giro for Vino this year, route too easy.
June 5: Vino Tweet from Dauphine. Prologue done - easy. Heart rate stay low. I crush them in the mountains.
June 8: Today Grenoble will crumble under Kazakh thunder. I never heard of this Wiggons guy you talk of. Vino crush him.
June 8: Vino love the rain. Vino love the cold. Vino love the hot. Vino not feel the difference

That is epic. Why oh why did Vino close it? It would be like Contador asking for his lawyers to be arrested.

I hope the person opens another account.

what a legend vino is,great video about the great astana.
vino making fun of menchov podium spot last year was pure gold."well i could fight for the podium who knows?if menchov did then i can too"=))))))he was just teasing they are friends.

He's having a replica being built in Tenerife for that :p
jokes aside, there IS a small Astana themed shop inside that building with his 2010 LBL bike and other merch in it.
