Vino in California?! That might warrant a trip. We could establish our own "cycling news" Vino fan group. Sadly I'm on the opposite coast, but it would be something to see Vino in person - especially if this is really his last year.

But i think Tour of Cali is in his program this year, cause he doesn't want to get in the way of Kreuziger in Giro and has to train somewhere, right?

Vino isn't going to ride ToC. His programe-2011 - Oman, Nice, Cr.Int., Pais Vasco, Ardennes, Romandie, Dauphine, TdF...
IMHO it's more likely to catch him on Tenerife or on Sicily in May...

I believe that Vinokourov rode a criterium type race in the states in 2002/3? It was in San Fransisco and went up some stupidly steep climb repeatedly. It was way back pre T-mobile when the Telekom kit was just pink and black. There is a photo in a back issue of cycle sport somewhere.

It doesn't really matter anyway, since the most important GT race in the world has proudly snubbed the team.

Predictable, I guess, but disappointing nonetheless. Yet another reason not to waste two seconds watching that race. I don't get why it's the same dates anyway as the Giro. Who would watch TdC over Giro?

Like last year, I will enjoy it to watch Giro on afternoon and the ToC at night.

Slowly I get sick of Americans who complain about ToC and the ToC to be covered live. Explain that to a German, with 2 half****ty onedayraces on highest level left, after cycling was nearly completely killed.

At least we are 4-5 years ahead. You will notice soon that this witchhunt and all the whining will not heal cycling - it will kill your cycling.

I hope someday I have nothing else to do than watch two 4-hour cycling races in one day. Until then I'll have to choose one or the other.

Lets not let this thread go down the same road of debating the ToC's existence and dates

al-qaeda recruited vino in order to make more attacks:

This thread cannot die! Neither can Vino.

GREAT win today - so exciting. So very happy for him. 37yo and he's showing he's still got it, even with guys more than 10 years younger than he is in the race.

Interestingly Vino himself is against radio ban.

He admits it directly benefits a few riders such like him, Evans and Gilbert, but ultimately it's not worth it.

Not that surprising if you know he lost his good friend in P-N 2003.
