this time we were supported by Astana City officials - at least they know that TdF is the big race![]()

Barrus said:I'm actually interested, what has been the influence of Vino and the Astana team on cycling in Kazachstan? Is it becoming better known and more loved, and more importantly, are more people picking it up as a sport to do themselves?
KazakhNeRider said:it's interesting - we've got really elite class cycling team but popularity of cycling is not so big in comparison with football, ice hockey or boxing and wrestling. And percentage of people who are aware about Astana team or results of any races is very small.
of course it's connected with a problem that bicycles themselves are not popular, cycling drive is realy unsafe on streets and roads. The Astana projects unfortunately is still much more important for image of Kazakhstan outside, than for image of cycling sport inside of country.
But it's big and boring topic![]()

Vino is my religion. When he retires - who will there be left to worship?
