No TV coverage today most probably. The Catalan public TV, which produces the TV images for the Volta, is on strike from 10am to 10pm.

has this been confirmed?

Yeah sorry I posted it on the wrong thread.

On the TV network's webpage, the time slot betwen 10am and 10pm is blank.

I very much doubt they'll broadcast the stage.

Which is too bad... couldn't they have gone on strike yesterday??

I hear what you're saying. It's off topic but sometimes you wish their teams would chuck them into some mountainous 2.1 stage race to rip it up to build their confidence.

God loves a tryer.

Gesink > Roche.

Both however should tank an early stage more often and go with big breaks in these type of stage races. Same with lots of other GC contenders. Gives us better racing too imo.

Gesink has much more potential, although he wastes it all the time. Roche however just isn't a top talent. I don't know if he was ever hyped but those 15th something places in the Tour are just his level. He should be glad AG2R let him be team leader for such a long time. He's also wasting his his best years by riding Tour-Vuelta double every season, and I think that will have significantly shortened his career by now.

I know Gesink has had a lot of problems but in two years time we could be saying the the same thing about him. Kreuziger, Roche, Rujano, Gadret. Gesink has to show something soon otherwise he can forget about being a team leader.

Maybe the moto guys aren't striking :D

None of the international broadcasters have mentioned anything.

If this is true then next year the race should lose its world tour status.

Hardly the organisers' or the races fault. If the race can still be WT after last year it will never stop :p

And other channels too. In the end it doesn't matter though: if the TV network that has to produce the images doesn't produce, nobody gets any images.

Again, this isn't official, but hey, when has Uncle Descender lied to you? You're welcome to bash me if I'm wrong, but trust me: we won't have live images of today's stage.

I'm all for criticising the organisers for their mistakes, but this isn't their fault.
