Many of Poels wins have been a short, sharp climb followed by a downhill finish. If Poels can peak like that, he can win Sky a Monument. Lombardia is perfect for him.

I don't think that is necessarily true ....they have a stable of very good riders who can be in form at different times more like...so they have winners for all parts of the season
A bit like how they rode the Tour last year ....different riders were good on different days

Poels is very impressive but how is he going be top at Ardennes, the Tour & the Olympics. And he is not even riding the Giro like Konig, Lopez & Instausti

Poles is very impressive but how is he going be top at Ardennes, the Tour & the Olympics. And he is not even riding the Giro like Konig, Lopez & Instausti

Simple, he will suck in the Ardennes as usual and then go full robotmode for the Tour and then hope to drag that form to the Olympics.

So you would trade the reigning world champion, who is probably the most marketable rider in the world and could very well win a couple of monuments over the next couple of years for 3-4 good domestiques?

I do agree with that ...Tinkov spent alot on Sagan and could have gotten alot of cheaper good climbers for that

My arguments are as valid as any of yours :-(

SKY have far more better climbers that Tinkov ...who have Contador & Majka but
Kreusiger is good but hasn't been recently
Mike Rogers heart is not good
Trofimov is good but who else...They have alot of older riders

Why did they not purchase Poels, Konig, Nieve , Inxtausti , etc
Because they wouldn't go to a team by Tinkov imo

All these innuendos are cheap attacks on success and noting but sour grapes
