depends on how early he started to lose tire pressure, I guess. At 1k to go, he already was too far back, but that time loss before may have been due to the mechanical already?!

Till the split he was looking great (+20s on Küng), and in general, from the whole field, only two other riders lost more time to Küng in the 2nd part than in the 1st.
