The conclusion of the 4th stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana 2024 was brought forward to the top of the Alto del Miserat due to a medical emergency that had occurred at what was to be the original finish line. Sadly, ex-cyclist Guillem Ramis passed away..The Spanish Guardia Civil confirmed the death of Guillem Ramis (57). He was a former cyclist who was not a professional, but managed to win a stage in the Vuelta a Orense in his youth. He was also proclaimed Spanish elite champion in team pursuit on three occasions on the track and more recently worked as driver for continental team, Illes Balears-Arabay.
