It's a nuisance when topics turn into Sky lineup discussion topics.
Why is ist such a huge problem for some people to see people discussing sky's lineup.

Because it's only sky's lineup and it takes over so many threads.

Foia isn't a really hard climb.

Yeah, not really steep and not super long either. I would like to hear BigMac's and portugal11's opinion.

My initial point was that it's a climb hard enough to make the differences between climbers and the rest stand out. I'd be very much surprised if Contador doesn't gain more than Zülle's 22 seconds on the rider behind him. This isn't just Fóia, it's the Monchique we know from the two previous years + the climb up to the Miradouro. Before the actual Fóia climb (the profile quoted above) there's the climb Kwiatkowski and G won on, with just the slightest false flat inbetween. So yeah, Flowerboy and Thomas may have won on Monchique (with daring attacks from far out, mind, not really mano-a-mano) but this is different. Not saying it's an Alpine monstrosity, but it would take something out of the x-files for Contador to be beaten from the peloton.

Edit: To make it clear, I think it's possible for Aru or Pinot to contend it, just sure as hell not Kwiatkowski.

Edit 2: I'll look very stupid if Kwiatkowski wins.

Because it's only sky's lineup and it takes over so many threads.

Whining about it takes much more space than the post itself.

Especially in this case since it is actually a post related to the topic of this thread?

I suggest you discuss Tinkoff's lineup then. :)

I'm almost tempted to post Sky's lineup in all upcoming threads asap. What a load of unfounded critism Mr.White got for just posting their lineup.

Back to topic. This looks like a nice race coming up. I hope Alberto will win it for a nice start of the season.

It just comes across as a bit smug "look how great our team is" to me.

Which is what you did during the giro/tour lineup of tinkoff last year and 2014. This early in the year and already being a hypocrite fleur? ;)

Come on, give it a rest y'all. You can obviously post line-ups, as long as they're not pure speculation and don't clog up threads. I hate deleting posts so please refrain from adressing any off-topic material above, and it stays at that.

Cheers!

The only reason it took over this thread was because you commented on it. If you could have just let it pass, there probably won't have been a further discussion of Team Sky's lineup than the initial brief comment :)

Sorry, didn't see you post until after I posted above. I will let it slip from now on :)

Race thread in february has 4 pages a week before it starts. If I didn't know Contador was riding Algarve I would've known then.

Oh and Kwiatkovski will win, I mean, he's riding for Sky, sudden unexplainable superb climbing form incoming, duuh

BigMac could you post your opinion on Alto da Foía? It seems you think it is quite a hard climb but it doesn't seem extremely steep or long? What makes it so challenging? :)

Kwiatkowski beat Contador in 2014. It's possible he will beat him again this year, but if he could also hang onto Contador uphill that would be strange. Let's also not forget Thomas.
For Contador it is good that Astana is bringing Aru and Rosa.

Don't think it's especially hard, just hard enough for Contador to school the opposition. Clarified a page back. :)

Although it's early in the season, I'm curious to finally see Pinot and Aru side by side. And (with Cancellara close to retirement) maybe Netserk will change his signature to "Aru is like the black album...". The climb is even (diesel-friendly), but not as long and steep as Thibaut likes them: still, I see him do really well there. Bertie has to be the favorite, tho. Kwiat can only limit his losses if the climbers wait until the last km to attack (i.e Dumoulin at the Vuelta). I don't think you'll look stupid BigMac ;) .

Well I sure hope we get to see this race somewhere. Such a nice lineup, must see!

Allthough I think I saw Jens_attacks post that there was no broadcast
