Strong sprint from Jakobsen! Demare came from too far and Ackermann's lead out was bad.

Now let's see if anyone from the pre race favourits made it into the front peloton.

Maybe the turquoise's forbidden in Algarve...
I think I'll start an HR agency called Slave Market. I bet response will be monstrous.
Abbreviation's self-explanatory.
-16km Gruppo molto compatto
what's this with Slaves?
Bots yes but slaves in cycling? ;)
BTW that's no way to treat a RHD.
Yeah, you're most probably right. RhD would let them all free and give sandwiches and water.
Maybe Slav Market is more appropriate... For the foreign market, at least.

Do I really come across as that nice?

Bit worried, though... there was a guy in that crash who seemed to be on the ground for quite some time...

would be nice to have the time gaps back to those who crashed.

I think Jacobsen might become better than Groenewegen. The ease by which he beat Demare and Ackermann. Although with Ackermann that's no surprise as he also easily beat him in Scheldeprijs last year

Looks like Powless, Poels, Pogacar, Oomen, Mas, De la Cruz and Hirschi made it through concerning GC.

Pretty much, yeah.
On this board, at least... you couldn't force anyone walking the plank, I'd say.

Sky seem to have come out of that best, with De La Cruz and Poels both avoiding the crash. To their credit, then, that it was Rowe who seemed to try to hold the crash survivors' group up to see if there were others coming across.

Barriers in the last kilometre is an overrated thing...

Jesus, that was dangerous with the people on the road taking photos in the last k.

Just watched this. Wow total carnage after that crash. Mullen doing a decent turn at the front!

Did Rowe have a right to ask them to sit up with 7km to go?

Well, he has the right to ask, he doesn't have the right to decide. And it seemed like it was an action of fair play, since both Poels and de la Cruz had made the cut.

Rowe comes across as a decent bloke so don't think he was trying it on. So yes with so many teams affected by the crash I suppose it was just an ask.

I think Rowe was just asking. He made a comment on Twitter that the crash was bad and even on their bus there are a lot of guys with bandages and bruises. It looks like a lot of teams were effected and Rowe was just asking for fair play for everyone. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Chapeau to Jakobsen & QS - you can n't keep 'em down. Aru already a minute down - the man is fast turning into LRP.
Hope Dunbar is back soon.

The comment about Aru suggests you never watched the stage.

Saw on Stuyven's social media last night he was in good spirits which is a good. He seemed badly hurt. Not sure which Trek rider touched wheels to cause the crash but the big shift at the front wasn't great.

I think this is Poels' race to lose now. He even got an advantage yesterday.

Biggest rival might be his own teammate, De La Cruz. But he is not nearly as explosive and powerful IMO.

What about the new Contador, Enric Mas. He was 2nd only to Yates in GC at Vuelta.

Aru to stage hunt?

He could still place high on the GC. But Poels, Oomen, Mas and maybe De La Cruz will be hard to take back time on. Maybe he will have easier to get away on the end of a stage for a win though. If others look at each other for the overall win.

UAE also have Pogačar for the GC. He didnt get held up in the crash. Top 10 could be possible for him if he climbs well.
