Wtf? If you can produce the watts, you can produce the watts. How can you be lucky doing that? It's not like Niklas Märkl sometimes at random features at the business end on an MTF or suddenly wins a bunch sprint out of nowhere.
I can tell you've never raced or understand racing if a factor such as wind never crosses your mind.
There are plenty of other examples where Pog couldn't shed him like in the Basque opening of the '23 Tour, where everyone else was immediately dropped.
The argument was about Vingegaard not having ''an explosive acceleration that instantly splits open gaps.'' I dont understand why you involved Pogacar, but I'd love to see a race where Vingegaard opens a gap on Pogacar when attacking him from a bunch or from the peloton.

Lol, great, now I have to prove that he is more explosive than Pogacar in order to say that he can drop riders generally with an acceleration.

It's true that not many examples spring to mind where he himself launches an explosive attack and drops everyone because of that (rather, he just ups the pace and everyone is already almost dead and thus drop), but what I was saying is that given the fact that he has been able to follow explosive Pogacar attacks (and given that he is likely the most explosive GC rider and his biggest rival that should clue you in as to the thing you say you don't understand), he probably is quite explosive himself. You wouldn't see Mikel Nieve or Tejay Van Garderen following those.

You brought Pogacar upon yourself. I can agree with you that it has happened that he's been able to immediately stick to Pogas wheel but seldom. I understand that you want to place Vinge up there with Pogacar in terms of explosivity when launching an attack off of possibility and I disagree off of probability.

Also, what's up with cycling this year? How can a stage like this not be predictable? Is that something we will have to get used to again?
Poor showing from the domestics in Visma and Redbull here I think.

It opened up the finale pretty early. Strange attacks from both Roglic and Vinge, but they were out of doms. Riders being able to counter-attack and get away.

UAE guys all riding their own race, which worked out perfectly for them here.

No other team interested or having the strength to control. Set a pace.

It was entertaining though. One of the best Foia stages that I can remember.

Ah, I thought Christen was Almeida and actual Almeida was random UAE signing #61.

In that case I'm actually surprised Roglic only lost the 3 seconds.
It was with 400 m to go:

Looks like Almeida attacked just after the corner.

Well, that argument is wrong because Vingegaard immediately drops everyone not called Pogacar (and a few times Pogacar himself) for the majority of the last 2 years.

He certainly isn't Purito or Valverde but he has a good enough acceleration to open gaps.
