Remember that the majority of the dropped riders dropped 30-40 km ago and it's been decent pace in the leaders group all the way to keep Carapaz / Higuita within range, so who knows how far behind they are. Maybe some would rejoin, but unless Carapaz/Higuita sits up UAE need to keep the pace in main group and it will be hard to rejoin.

Agree, UAE have to burn Soler and Ayuso to bring back Higuita and Carapaz. It won't be easy . Great Stage!!

Good thing for Carapaz and Higuita is that there is hardly a meter of flat road in this stage. A lot of descending on low gradients left and then also some climbing.

The problem for them will start to arise when other teams such as FDJ and Trek are going to help out because they smell a stage win.

Meh if the gap stays this big I think other teams like FDJ and Trek might not be interested in the chase. Think they won’t be making friends with Ineos and Bora if they do.

Teuns and Godon might start chasing at some point, but might also not.

Depends on who's in that group.
Also to be noted, Higuita had big problems last year in bad weather.
