His attacks always look very promising but he can't hold it. That's why I think he shouldn't attack from further than 2 km out. He looks completely broken everytime he crosses the line.

If Purito is capable of hanging in there then AC has no chance
He has to make the race as hard as possble but his team doesn't seem to be that strong :|

But what if Machado hangs in there too? Surely we need to take Machado into consideration.

This maybe true. Contador, however, has very good recovery. I think we will see him attacking again.

Exactly Purito isn't a pure GT-rider, not on the same level as Contador. He should attack each today hoping purito's recovery will fade.

Contador will attack today, the question is where exactly?

Yup. Everywhere around 2 km to go is Purito-area. Its where he gets the sense of a victory. What they tried yesterday was actually not that bad. Trying to destroy the contenders teammates and gregarios is a must not just for one day but for the rest of la Vuelta and while going for the stage win he could have taken back seconds. It looked good until Froome unleashed his Kamikaze-move which made things moving behind Alberto because Purito counterattacked and get rid of Moreno. Of course Alberto was slowing but it might have been enough if Moreno had to be allowed of keeping the pace a bit longer. But thats cycling.

A couple of k to go. He's not strong enough or confident enough yet to go on a megga long attack.

Yes he will, that's his only chance to win this
He has to put everyone on the limit and then pray that he will be strong enough in Bola del Mundo stage.

Sadly we will only see the strongest Contador at Vuelta

they are not going to blow anything up. moreno will still be there
Moreno is a poor man's Purito though. He's not as consistent in the real mountains. We'll see.
