Just tuned in, can someone be so nice to write a short recap what's going on?

OT, so apologies in advance.

Where in the broadcaster's handbook does it say that the helicopter sound has to be piped in as the background sounds? Harmon and Kelly are not in reporting from the back of the helicopter, but it sounds as if they are.

The sounds appear when the feed is from the helicopter, but why in the world don't they turn off the microphone on that camera?

Really cheesy.

well it's quite risky to stand at the back of the peloton when your opponent is AC. I dunno...

He tried to gamble safe that AC shouldnt attack with that must left to go. I think. Or that he tried to provoke an early attack. But AC didnt swallow the bait.

The sound is artificial, it's been discussed before in these forums somewhere.

Why they do it? No clue.

Haha nice:D

So far Purito really has played a TAG style, while Contador has played like a total maniac. On the Cobertoria they tried to durrrr each other. Contador didn't attack because of the huge reverse-implied odds. Want more?

I think the ambient sound helps. You hear the motorbike when they are using those cameras (along with the wind). Same with the helicopters.

The problem with the bluff theory is, what does Purito stand to gain from it? Why would he do it?

Exactly, Saxo was gonna ride anyways. The only thing i can think off is to make Contador nervous.

Could be but he already won so many GT's, doubt that would happen.

After a hard 60 km, 2 riders formed a breakaway including De Gendt.

They got it out to ~14 mins before Euskatil and Saxo hit the front of the peloton hard.

J-Rod was near the back of the strung out peloton, then for whatever reason Contador dropped back to him with Saxo still pushing a hard pace.

They are now approaching the base of the Cuito Negro and the two leaders have a 7:30 advantage.

His comments yesterday that he was one attack away from blowing? Trying to bluff AC into going early maybe?
But surely that would be playing into the advantage of AC?

Thanks for the reply.

Totally ridiculous and completely annoying. I need to tune that out. I just hope that the helicopter shot never focuses on Froome. Head up. Head down. Rinse and repeat to the music of a helicopter blade.

That sounds logical.

Hmm, why is purito sitting at back?... is he bluffing to have a bad day or something?
Maybe he conceded the race to Contador, so he pleaded not to drop him too far back. :)

Hopefully all this dis-organisation and bluffing, mind games, whatever you call it will mean De Gendt will win the stage as at one point the gap was dropping v quickly.

Rodriguez is way too far back IMO. Maybe he knows something we don't, but sitting on Movistars' wheel seems the wrong place to be...
