Same timeframe as the Algarve race in Portugal. Big names include last year's winner Fuglsang, the new and improved Mikel Landa, now switched from Movistar to Bahrain McLaren. Also with a new team is Enric Mas, who switches from Quickstem to Movistar. Also racing is Aleksandr Vlasov, the newcomer from Astana who was going great in the Provence race.
There is also a hilly 13k ITT at the end.

Astana with the usual killer team in these early season spanish races.
I'm very curious about Jack Haig's performance. He's been steadily improving for the past 2 years, can he finally win a stage race?

He was climbing really well in Valencia.

Haig should be disappointed if he doesn't match his performance from Valenciana, especially as the parcours is more suitable to his characterics - ITT is a small worry as he is only average at this discipline - This should set him up well for P/N in which he'll face the heavy hitters.

What, did Bahrain confuse this race with the Tour de France?

Originally, their team consisted of Landa, Teuns, Colbrelli, Caruso, Cortina, Mohoric, Bilbao.

Seven of their eight biggest stars.

Padun in instead of an ill Cortina, though.

Some racing kilometers in the legs before a route like this could be useful but doesn't have to mean too much.
If only the lineups on the peninsula this week were more evenly split would've been ideal.

The new Jumbo Visma signing, the australian Chris Harper, is going great as well.

But Landa and Fuglsang seem to be doing a 2020 Quintana. Out of this world.
