It's a bit strange to have George Bennett as your 4th rider, he's not exactly known as a great TTT rider. Even if there's a climb at the end, he's already blown up beforehand (as we've seen today).
would have expected Oliveira to be there instead, but the team was working all day yesterday already. Mostly saw Navak at the front, but maybe it was him as well.

Lazkano and some random Spanish roulers matching TJV still with paint on their bike and not even worrying too much about cornering
Can't wait for Lagunas de Neila, jumbo pacing all day with false tempo. Only for Movistar to suddenly drive it into the final climb, lazkano setting a furious tempo which nobody except verona, rubio and roglic can hold, ener rubio attacks off verona's wheel at 4km from the line and looks over his shoulder at roglic grimacing and slipping away behind him...

Anyway didn't watch today because we should all boycott TTTs in 5-8 day stage races but good to see movistar so close to jumbo

My wild guess is that he is still considered for a Vuelta spot and therefore they tested him today. I think Fabbro is leaving so he's out for the Vuelta.
Palzer or Buchmann I think. And one rider like Koch, Denz or Gamper. That's 8 with Vlasov, Higuita Zwiehoff, Kämna, Van Poppel and Uijdebroeks.

Time gap should probably mean Yates will attack on Picon Blanco, but it does look like a stiff headwind on that climb tomorrow.

Not necessarily. There are in fact teams who are perfectly fine with bringing a rider who's leaving to the Vuelta. In fact, as recent as last year Bora brought Kelderman.
completely agrre with your general point. E.g. if Konrad wouldn't have started the Tour they would have been wise to bring him anyway to the Vuelta. They have multiple guys they can bring instead of fabbro (Zwiehoff, Palzer, Aleotti, Lipowitz (he's out though), wandahl)...in this scenario I think it's logical to take the guys you want to develop. Maybe I see it in a different light if Fabbro is in the Top 10 on Picon Blanco and Lagunas de Neila.

I didn’t mind the uniqueness of the finish there. Wouldn’t want it in a GT or premier stage race but it was cool

Good job by JV. UAE likely starting too strong and paying the price at the end. Considering especially Movistar and BORA did better, likely it's up to UAE to try something tomorrow.
