Who was the HTC guy helping Cav in the end? Was it Goss? Roulston? Either way, he did a superb job.

Glad that Hutarovich won.

wow that was fun, and you know I think that was probably way better than even the other best guesses to beat cavendish.. outsiders are such good fun.

was it me or did that seem a long sprint bit of the sprint?

According to Matt Keenan it was Goss.

Must be a very satisfying win for Hutarovich, against basically all the strongest sprinters in the world.

Bennati messed that sprint up and Hushovd of Bos was nowhere to be seen in the end.

An excuse will be forthcoming....

Maybe not. Hopefully HumbleCav from the TdF is still with us and he'll be able to acknowledge that the better man won on the day.

A nod to Stauff. A top 10's not bad for a young neo pro who's got a lot of potential as a sprinter.

I guess someone will ask him, and he will give an answer. That doesn't always add up to "excuse making".

Who said we were referring to Cav himself? His fans are usually pretty good at creating conspiracy theories for when he doesn't win so he doesn't have to.

The obvious "excuse" is the same as for Freire, Hushovd etc - building form for the Worlds. If there at their peak now - they've got it wrong

i was hoping Haedo to do better than P14.. Swift did OK for 8.

Cav got beat the other day in Italy so I dont think he's quite on it yet but Well done Hutarovich.

I'm glad I didn't bother watching that, just another tedious Cav win.

I'm glad I didn't bother watching it too, just caught the last few kilometres, and missed Columbia holding the break at a steady distance for 100km of absolutely nothing, just like every vaguely flat day of course. I get it, I should shut up and just sit and enjoy the action as I watch the break's gap tick up from 2'35 to 2'40 and think "does this mean they have more of a chance?". Still, at least they don't have the full strength team here - they've sent that to the Tour of Britain because of the super-difficult parcours and tough competition level they'll face there

Nice to see someone who isn't one of the big sprinters winning :D Recorded it so I'll watch the last 5k later.

It was 45 degrees today. You cannot expect much. Heard there were plans to cancel the football matches in Spain due to the heat. Says enough.
