Sure, but what I'm saying is if he attacks from 8 km to go, he'll be spent for Cotobello. Besides, the break seems to have too big a gap for him to get bonus seconds. One or two at least should be able to stay away.

No I don't believe that. Mosquera's recuperation is pretty good. Last years Vuelta he attacked and gained time nearly every stage, even when he went to early on some of those climbs
And it's not only about the break, the earlier you start breaking Nibali, the better chance you have.

Nibali has a great tendency to blow up on longer climbs.
