Just as a curiosity, on a totally pancake flat stage like this, do they skip the gearchangers etc on the bikes and only run with one gear for more performance and better reliability etc?

Cancellara maybe tired a little at the end as Zabriskie finished 12 second faster between the last checks.

Millar's second check at +53 Sec. Looks like he's not measured his effort very well, but the time at the finish is what counts.

Solid but unspectacular from David Millar.

Bruseghin is out on course, I think he has a solid dark horse contender for a podium spot today. He always has good form for the worlds, he has been a stellar workhorse for the Azzuri for many years now.

[edit] Oh whoops, I guess he had a crash a few days ago. See what happens when I have to stop watching for a few days?

Omg, Theo Bos managed to fall after 5km and had to give up
That in a flat km without any corners

The Youngest will be in a foul mood now for the rest of the day..:p

Cav did a reasonable time in losing just over 3 minutes or so.

Cancellara's TT performance has definately been sub-par in terms of time margin. He only takes 1:24 on a guy like Niermann

I reckon Nibali should really be within 40/50 seconds of Cancellara now. If he wants to do well.

Seems like there might be headwind on the way out and tailwind on the way back. Niermann lost 1:15 first 15km but then gained 36s last 15km.

So not very good

Thank god it happened to Garcia and not another Xacebo guy.
