1,23 gained on Spartacus in 15 km's? Hell to the no!

EDIT: He must have had minor headwind in the first part and major tailwind the last part.... Probably means that the GC guys get major headwind from the start and (maybe) major tailwind at the end...

Eurosport just mentioned this and I was wondering as well. How do you guys think Danielson got away with having his wrists so high. I thought the UCI rules didn't allow hand positions higher than elbow rests.

Hands above elbows is fine, hands above saddle is not (I think). Who knows to be honest, the UCI frame rules are so crazy.

Cancellara was slower than Hoste and DZ over the final section so not surprising for Menchov to get maybe half a minute back even if the wind was constant

Gilbert made up 57 seconds on Cancellara in the final part.

It's very clear now.

So there is still hope for my guts!!! :D

edit: oh and MY GOD THE OFFICIAL TICKER SUCKS! Menchov is still as last rider to have finished, no check times whatsoever. And they only write who starts when, which is the only information on the actual ticker that is correct. USELESS!

Nibali looks good. Mosqueras and Rodriguez hope is that Nibali goes to fast too early, because hes made that mistake on mountains, but i doubt it.

The "live timing" seems to have stopped updating also.

Crazy sexy cool..... Tipping my hat to Menchov (but I kinda picked him as an outsider:D).

Danielson and Nibali top10 on the stage?

Looks like they stopped updating the intermediate times as soon as they went live. It's amateurish production. No wonder the Vuelta is the least prestigious of the GTs.

So seeing how it is shaping up with the performance of the others so far, how far back from Menchov do you guys think Purito will finish in this ITT?

Compared to Le Tours ticker this is utter garbage even though its the same bloody ticker, they just broke it down in spain. Also the whole camera handling seems much less proffesional (from what i have managed to catch, especially the sprints). So yeah you are right, entertainment and course wise Vuelta is as good as the other, its just the things around it that really seem to lack.

Looking @ Purito's TT position & pedaling, is no secret why he looses so much time.....:(

I really won't do any predictions now. The changing conditions make it hard to place everyone

I fact, I know it's not relevant in the battle for the GC, but I'm curious - in what place could someone like Nibali or Schleck finish in this ITT. Maybe about 20, 25?

Nibali, top 10.
Schleck maybe top 25. Maybe.

That would be in equal conditions for everyone, of course. Which these conditions aren't. So it's a crapshoot.

What doesn't suck in this ITT-production? No information to be had for long long stretches of time, no finishes, no "kilometres to go" when they are out on a featureless road.

Starts are A LOT less interesting than seeing riders actually struggling to finish at a good time. Wrong priorities!

EDIT: having muted ES-commentary doesn't help either, but at least my ears have been given mercy..

Nibali lost his bottle. Is he allowed to get a new one form the car?

Edit: Already got a new one.

Both mechanics and Nibali panicked at that wheelchange. Nibali almost threw his bike in the ditch, yet that was the bike ended up using. Chaos.
