Roglic winning on finishes like this one is literally the most predictable thing ever, can't get excited about it.
At least the racing was good

He hadn't really dropped the rest yet, and after Formigal I'd say there were some question marks.

But this is probably his best stage win IMO

To me it looked like Carapaz blew up when he tried to attack himself after closing the gap that Roglic opened and Roglic responded.

Primoz pain face then Attack, works it all the way in. Carapaz was in agony...... Chapeau Primoz, cut his deficit in 1/2.

Grand last 50km, it's a shame Mas folded after all that Movi work but he will win white and maybe even podium.

Roglic shut down Vlasov like a boss and then did one more dig to get rid of Carapaz. Clearly the strongest rider today. He can win the Vuelta unless he collapse due to fatigue in last week.

I confess to having written him off after the time loss the other day. With more info, it looks like the rain jacket issue really was an issue on that stage.

Not really. I think the main mistake was trying to bring back Roglic, which probalby cost some seconds, but it's not like he was caught for 2nd or 3rd and dropped by a bunch of other guys.

Roglic now the favourite. Five men still in the running in the sense that they can win without a major reversal of fortunes. Mas just about still one of them because he can TT and has good three week endurance but the time losses are starting to add up for him.

I'd say it was a slightly below expectation TT, but nothing terrible. I think he forced himself on the flats and then blew up on the final climb anyway.
